  1. Except so far the GR9s with the 65% LERX have the little intakes added...... http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1116604/L/ Incidentally, the reasons for not re-fitting with 100% LERx are cost and operational need - the LERX was developed to add turning/manouvrability
  2. There weren't many, mainly experimental (IIRC only the late mark Seafires had them as standard) mk 14, mk 21, mk 22s and a single mk 24 (PK684) all carried them at various times You could use the contraprop from the Airfix Seafire kit with the mk 22/24 kit
  3. yeah, but they have SOME aerofoil!!
  4. It LOOKs like a flow line, so I suspect it's due to not enough time in the mould.
  5. Hadn't realised that, well flicked tomes in this house!
  6. And you can do an armed one on anti-MauMau operations in Kenya
  7. This one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Revell-BAC-Lightning...1QQcmdZViewItem Is the Novo/Frog mould and was released along with a batch of other ex-Frog kits (Shackleton, Sea Vixen etc) Hasegawa revised their tooling in the late 80s/early 90s to include some additional parts (cockpit IIRC) - didn';t do anything about the shape errors on the fuselage. Ironic that the best small scale Lightning is the Tamyia one in 1/100th, also released by Revell, then the Revell in 1/144th!
  8. Does it have the canopy mould flaw many on ARC are frettting over?
  9. They are deploying to Waddington for an exercise - 6 of them I beleive
  10. To give credit to the originator, this came from Rob Monfea, who works at BAESYSTEMS at Warton and was first posted by him on the IPMS UK forum. It was then posted in various other forums, usually by me!!
  11. Wing L/E looks dodgy. I wonder if this is one of the products that came out of one of the incarnations of 'Final Touch'?
  12. Mmm, Waveny class would be an interesting kit (and plenty of sales scope in the US!!) If anyone likes the idea of another Lifeboat, then Langley do an albeit more expensive one http://www.langleymodels.co.uk/acatalog/Sh...ngley__111.html
  13. So what sort of weaponry can we put on it? :-) I quite fancy a What If Coastal patrol boat - or maybe a Police Launch
  14. That canopy opening thing is just SOOOOOO funny (as a confirmed canopy closer) - last time I recall DIY parts in a mainstream kit was the Fujimi A-4B
  15. And they won't let them paint 'Royal Navy' on the side of the aircraft.
  16. I suspect it's along the lines of 'Don't have two versions of a kit on the market at the same time". If you had two kits, you might not sell 100% of kit one, whereas if you have a single kit, you have a better chance of someone wanting a Hunter buying it. I'm waiting for the F4!!
  17. That's because I never manage to finish anything these days.
  18. Shape looks wrong there IMO -the lower plan line of the Hunter has a much 'sharper' up turn whereas the kit seems to have a gradual tapering over the length of the cone. http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/hu...raydeacon01.jpg Although interestingly the shape looks different on this one: http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/hu...ll/hunt_007.jpg John Adams mentions F4s fitted with F6 tailpipes on one of his posts, so beware!!
  19. Some interesting posts: http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/message/1117816756/ makes sense if the F6 is shorter/wider And Steve's much quoted post: http://www.network54.com/Forum/149674/mess...ealed+inside%21 The only Hunters in Scotland (at oposite ends of the country) are early mks (a 1 and a 4)
  20. But just a heads up for those of you who use SD cards for your digital cameras - just got two 1GB Sandisk Ultra II cards from an Amazon Market seller for £5.60 each (Postage was about £5 for the two) Considering Jessops etc sell these at £20+ each, well worth a look! Seller was called 'You Want One'. Very fast service as well, ordered Tuesday night at about 12.30am, delivered by Royal Mail this AM.
  21. My first contact with sludge washes was this article: http://www.finescale.com/fsm/objects/pdf/q...yweathering.pdf
  22. The Warpaint lists the spinner colour as red and white. From memory, the undercarraige bays are aluminium, at least in some Gannets
  23. At a guess, I'd say same colour as the undersides OR aluminium. Check out some of the pictures in the British section of Dan Ford's site: http://www.warbirdforum.com/buff.htm Includes the Pilots notes here: http://www.warbirdforum.com/buffman.htm
