  1. I can think of three - Piece, of, and crap.
  2. Italeri, avoid like the plague! The GR7 is the Hasegawa kit. the ESCI/Italeri F-5B has been released in Revell boxing recently IIRC
  3. Problem with that is that Flightpath now own the intellectual property in the former PP range, including the nose. You could try asking them if they would supply it separately, but I have been singularly unsuccessful in getting a response to (polite) emails asking similar question about another product in their range
  4. Not just close, BS381C:627 was the incorporation into 381C of the colour chosen from BS2660 (Fore runner of BS4800). When the RAF needed a polyurethane colour for the underside of it's jets in the 60s (as there wasn't an aluminium PU paint at that time) a colour was chosen from the 'generic' colour chart which was the closest to the shade & hue of aluminium/high speed silver. Same, as John says, with Barley/Camouflage Grey, hemp/Camouflage beige and a few other colours. Dug this up whilst doing some research into Hunter undersides.
  5. More so because it's a conversion from the GR1 kit, built (originally) in 1985ish
  6. Separate chin intakes and Enlarged cockpit astrodome points to post-war variants as well (Maybe an ASR III!? Or even a York?). Mind you, only one fuselage half will be a problem!! All those engraved panel lines where none exist in real life is disappointing, but that seems to be fashion Whats the bet we don't see half the 'extra' parts for years, like the Hunter tail pipe?
  7. Follows the pattern of Heller retooling Airfix kits to include specific French parts (Gazelle, Puma) - I do wonder if Airfix KNEW about it! BTW, Whose Magister is in the set?
  8. Lots of ways! http://wwi-cookup.com/albatros/modelling_h..._woodgrain.html For all you want to know on WW! modelling, try: www.wwi-models.org and join us on the mailing list.
  9. So the kit 'owes something' to the Fujimi one does it? I take it this is one of their 'full kits' rather than a 'kwik-bild' © Equally don't use it on an un-varnished acrylic paint job, especially one where the demarcation line goes under the decal!!
  10. IIRC The Airfix fuselage was correct in length, but the wings were in the wrong place so the plug was designed to sort that. The Revell kit is fine in length for an earlier verison. If you have a look around you will see a long debate on exactly what differences the tail pipes on the early Hunters were (still not resolved completely!) but the most obvious difference is that the lower fuselage sweeps up more on the mks 1- 5 than on the F6. I recall Drewe built one and just filled/sanded the lower fuselage to a better profile. there are some differences in small vents, but if iit were me I'd ignore them!
  11. Somewhere I have the Heller 1/100th Jaguar M. There are also at least two 1/144th Jaguars - the orginal LS one (which is quite nice) and a Korean copy which has appeared in various boxings, including (I think) Academy
  12. What are the BL755 cluster bombs for? And hurry up and finish so that someone will release a proper 1/72 -D! (Murphy's Laws of Modelling No.2)
  13. That is a question! AFAIK there is no clear published picture of it. The Smithsonian Avenger is a Tarpon, and apparently has the modified insides, but I'm not aware of a photo.
  14. Cockpit is further forward on the IIIE/V than on the 'C'
  15. Also seen in a PM box, clunky and basic about sums it up! Thick sprues & parts. Rumoured it MIGHT be the one in the Airfix Falklands set.
  16. because Revell have to make their bit of profit - almost every Revell boxing of an Italeri kit is £1-2 more expaensive
  17. St the toy fair, Revell said it was the Hasegawa kit
  18. NF 672 7K was Nicki Thank goodness for the Internet Archive!! http://web.archive.org/web/20020208233406/...ry_of_nicki.htm Great minds!!
  19. I suspect it is the hasegawa one, and not the Novo one - they did release that before.
  20. That's the ones I've got - I'll check when I get home, but IIRC the serial for nicki was something of a mystery.
  21. I think they came off an old article in Navis webmag (for those with long memories!) so they are not mine, but they show the colour scheme well.
  22. I have a number of photos on file of aircraft from Nairana, not all atre of Nicki, I'll dig them out
  23. They also tested them off a strip of the M55 just before it opened.
  24. Colours are: 'Barley' Grey - 334 Medium Sea Grey - 335 Light Aircraft Grey - 332 PS I like your choice of sig!
