Fabulous.
:worthy: -
Thanks chaps

Roland, yeah I do have a full time job selling AV equipment, however the long suffering fiancee puts up with my intensive modelling sessions...most of the time...

Please don't hesitate in posting your desert TSR.2, I'd love to see it !

Really lovely work Jens, The hand wheel below the throttle quadrant is particularly impressive.
Better than resin - not often one says that !
Great stuff.
-
Now THATS a phantom

Lovely work Jen, the paintwork is beautiful - I love that Alclad work .
This going to be canopy up or down ?
-
Nice work Darren
Rory, I don't suppose that is Sherbourne by any chance? If it is I think I might know who the pilot is, namely me! :shithappens: In fact we nearly didn't spot the wire accross the middle until the last minute and had to reposition!
LOL

what are the chances ?

That is sensational detail work in that cockpit
Lovely progress, keep us posted !

I've seen excellent seascapes created using plaster of paris as well, I can't remember exactly but I recall the technique involved crinkling up a load of aluminium foil and pusing it down over a bed of plaster of paris, when set the aluminium foil is removed you are left with a very credible looking sea texture, just careful painting required
(of course its very advisable to leave a ship sized hole from the onset
)AHA -- Found it !

I would have sold you one of mine if you were desperate John
Just didn't get chance to make you suffer for it
lol - actually Mike I just posted a tongue-in-cheek request on the wanted board at ARC, just on the off chance. I nearly fell off my chair when I got a pm the next day offering me the kit at the original RRP incl. P&P
Just goes to show its always worth asking the question

-
How'd I miss this one - more importantly, how can you afford one of these John? Those belts look so good - trust your showing em off with the canopy up.
very very nice mate.
Thanks Gary - a very nice chap over on ARC called Gerard sold me the unopened TSR.2 for £25 inc postage, fantastic considering he could quite easily have sold it on Ebay for silly money! I guess I asked the question at the right time, and the right chap responded, either way I think he just wanted to see one built up, and not shrinkwrapped for the rest of eternity. Top bloke

Yup - this will be fully unbuttoned matey

........1/72nd?JEEZ, that's outstanding Skii

.......but it'd better be WHITE or I'm sendin' da boyz rahnd.....

LOL Guy, cheers fella
yep - white , not DAZ white, but white nonetheless, I'm doing XR-219 as she would have appeared during a pre-flight check.Looking fantastic JohnImpressive stuff
Cheers Sean

I've been longing to see this build with the wings on, and you aren't disappointing me.
Amazing stuff

-
Thanks for the kind comments chaps, just a small update tonight
Here is the pit with the Mk8 bang seats, the eduard seatbelts make a nice finish

Fits into the fuselage nice and snugly, eduard photoetch on the avionics bay

I actually really like aggressor stuff, definately the best looking F-16 scheme.
Nice

-
I can't get over how polished it is! Really going to have to build one of these. Soon!
yup - when I finally get around to progressing with mine, I'm aiming for as shiny as poss, bugger the scale effect!
-
Ooh look at that stressed skin - definately one for the records. Lovely photography - whats your shutter setting? the prop blur is spot on !
-
Did someone say dull gray F-16 :whistling:

Lovely Thunderbird Phil
(resists the urge to joke about pilots forgetting true alititude AGL)
:whistling:

Looks pretty damn good from here Darren ! You've captured the mesh grille on the air intakes quite nicely too - was this using the same technique as I did ?
Very nice work squire !
-
aw bless :shithappens:
-
STUNNING Buccaneer Calum, great to have you aboard, and please don't hesitate to post any of your other work , regardless of nationality !

Yep - thats about as good as it gets.
Awesome work Mr Burkhill

Thanks Phil

I also have a 1/32 Revell Tornado waiting to start :whistling:

Cheers Darren - here's hoping !

Looks like the original kit canopy to me Mike - with the resessed MDC in the perspex - which is just a simple case of filling and wiping with acrylic paint

I've not tried MAM... I'm going to stick with SAMI, even though their proofing's abysmal... Can't even spell Freightdohg (sic) properly!
Went off SAM, because it strayed too far into research only territory... think it's probably bounced back now though. I'm also going to keep MAI, although it reads a bit like an advert for littlecars & Cammett... I do like some of the articles. Might give MAM a try for a couple of issues... then maybe have a look at SAM too...
Yeah I used to buy MAI a lot, but the issues all started to get a bit 'samey', the builds are of excellent quality but I lost interest in the magazine itself.

A few of my builds from over the years...
