  1. Ouch - not a disaster mind, try sanding the green off and then touching up with the airbush, I've had a lot worse happen
  2. Yeah it looks the business doesn't it !? I plan to do a T.5 Aeroclub conversion at some point (Thunder City's ZU-BEX ) Nice work (as ever) Bill
  3. Fantastic pics Kyrre, I just find all those lumps and bumps quite mesmerising, as an F-16 dummy can someone tell me what those ugly nodules below the windscreen are ?
  4. Nice start Phil - I'm watching this one closely * *Actually I watch all Flory work closely because its ruddy marvellous
  5. Excellent work - really taking shape too. Do I like that Wessex ? oh yes, consider my jaw dropped!
  6. Len, please don't tell me you are going to seal all that beautiful work up between two fuselage halves... Utterly gobsmacking work, someone cloned Halibag Phil !
  7. Glad we could help Geoff, actually I was perusing your site a few days ago I have to say the techniques section is really nice, your photography and work is quite superb, and thanks for the thumbs up to Britmodeller, I certainly hope we are going to be huge, or me Cop and Mike will certainly die trying ! Bookmarked John
  8. That is beautifully subtle Gary, very nicely done indeed!
  9. That looks amazing Andy ! I'd definately give it a squirt of matt varnish around the running gear though. John
  10. Thats one of the finest 1/72 Phantoms I've seen in a long while - absolutely superb. Just makes me want one of these kits even more ! John
  11. Hi Geoff Yeah the main legs fit quite well after assembly - they rotate and sit in place quite nicely despite the photo-etch in the bay, one of them needed the edge of the triangular base shaving slightly to allow it to rotate in to position, but she stands quite sturdily with all 3 legs dryfitted into position as you can see in this earlier pic . I'll have a play with the airbrakes later and see what I can come up with Actually Geoff covered all the fit issues on page 5 of this thread, problem with my build-up is it would be pretty useless to anyone building the kit unless they were cramming a similar amount of resin and photoetch in! Anyone who has built a vac-form kit can handle one of these babies with ease mate
  12. Tell me about it ! I went through 2 sheets of B+Q fine grade sandpaper getting that bugger to fit the fuselage flush Also I'm regretting my decision to not fit the airbrakes first before painting the fuselage, they are such a poor fit I'm going to have to set them open, not the end of the world, just requires some further scratchbuilding on the hydraulic actuators .. Still, if it was Tamiya, it would be boring to build
  13. Oooh they are beauties ! I particularly like the various shades used on the wings and the very subtle panel line washing Very very nice indeed, and welcome to Britmodeller ! John
  14. Nice work squire - that pit doesn't look like the easiest to paint and you've done a cracking little job
  15. Actually I got that slightly wrong - it happened at 66,000 ft, but later he reached 88,000ft in a zoom climb http://www.lightning.org.uk/archive/0410.php
  16. My favorite Lightning stand-off story was the U2 pilot who at 88,000 feet was suprised to see a Lightning pilot alongside waving at him
  17. There's a classic cold war standoff! No doubt both parties exchanged the appropriate hand gestures
  18. Very nice indeed ! Did you wash the panel lines ? they look subtle and just right !
  19. Ohhh beautiful, thats a nice looking Stang. That base is superb too - more shots please
  20. Nice first post Miroslav, love the Mk9 Spit. Welcome to Britmodeller John
  21. Can you get these for the Revell kit Spike ? I've seen the airwaves ones for the Hasegawa kit, not sure how good a fit they would be..
  22. Cheers Neil Couldn't resist splashing the burner cans with 2 tones of alclad II, dull and light aluminium
  23. Sean, I'd have a look at the kit before you plump for any PE, the moulding and cockpit detail is so good in the OOB cockpit I'd question the need to buy any AM for it
  24. He forgot to re-set his altimeter to the airfields height above sea level. oooh sorry - wrong airshow !
  25. Yep. thats the best Camel I've seen, I particularly like that foil work around the engine, absolutely beautiful stuff. Amazing work Guy, just amazing! :worthy:
