  1. Windsor and Newton oil as per usual, for some of the rivets undiluted and the excess wiped away with a cotton bud
  2. Thanks peeps , I'm quite pleased with the wash as it doesn't seem to dominate the paintjob
  3. Cheers Sean, glad you like it mate.
  4. This is looking pretty damn stunning, the landing gear looks very authentic indeed. Excellent stuff.
  5. Looking divine Phil, Can't wait to see that canopy unmasked , love the subtle weathering on the underside as well.
  6. Ok - here is the fuselage section mostly finished, just a few of the smaller more fiddly decals to do. She's standing proudly on a fresh set of legs thanks to Dave, lots more work to go, but the larger decals and fine panel wash are mostly done. You should be able to make out the slight tint to the windscreen section from here thats all for now - I have undercarriage, stores, flaps, canopy and doors to work on.... phew !
  7. ooooh thats good , very good indeed
  8. Thats some superb masking, such a great job on those chequers. Fantastic stuff Ian
  9. Chaps - thanks for the very kind offers, Dave T came to the rescue in the end in a mutually satisfying parts swap more progress shots very shortly

  16. Very distinctive looking cat Drewe, beautiful masking, you really do have the soft-edge masking thing nailed.
  17. Lovely (and I don't say that very often.... )
  18. YES!!!! Bloody marvellous Jen, I love the steel shades around the tail as Mike points out, and the overall neatness and precision of the build. Beautiful!
  19. That is fantastic. And what a wierd, wonderful looking aircraft
  20. Considering the list of mishaps, it doesn't half look good ! Nice start
  21. I suppose its worth a try Mike - thanks for the offer, I probably could scratchbuild them if I have the kit items to compare with ! Christ I'm wee weed off about this
  22. Well - looks like the project has ground to a halt. The undercarriage legs, wheels and flaps which I carefully cut from the wings have all vanished as well as the plastic bag I kept them all in The wheels are not a problem, I have the resin CMK ones , and I can probably scratchbuild some new flaps out of styrene card, but the undercarriage legs ? Bugger
  23. Good tip using acrylic paint as filler there Phil, although I can't imagine much would stick on a kit of this quality Coming along very nicely! john
  24. ZU-BEX is the highly polished BMF with the Shell logo Beautiful isn't she ?! anyway - I digress, coming along very nicely Bill, the wheel bay looks spot on, I used a kind of mesh in my build for the texture, but yours looks much better. Lovin' it
