Really exiting range and the advent calender was such a clever bit of marketing, it certainly got people on here excited. The Javelin followed by the Lanc and ground set are top of my list , but I'm sure to pick up a gladiator or 2/

Very Impressed , I brought this cat at Telford - it looks like I have plenty of reference photos now for when I get around to build it. -

You absolutely right : problem between chair and keyboard!

We don't normally have any problems , I will look into it. In the meantime try right clicking on the picture and selecting "Save Link As" to download it to your computer, it's about 4Mb so will take a little while on a slow link.

I have just published the latest edition of the Romsey Modeller to our web site , it can be downloaded from Romsey Modeller The magazine covers Romsey Modeller's fantastic trip to Airfix HQ in Maidstone and documents what we found out about this brilliant company , including lots of detail about how models are designed. There are also build articles on the new Cromwell IV and Hawk 120D, if I say so myself it's a cracking read ! Enjoy Tony

Martin, I hope your eye recovers soon, it explains your absence from this year's RM build a model in a day event which if anything was more hectic than last year. Good work on the TSR2 , its encouraged me to get mine out of the stash ( I wonder how long that will last)

I always use Tamiya Fine Grey Primer which I decant and spray with my airbrush. Quick tip which I discovered last night, normally after I decant from the rattle can ( using a drinking straw attached to the nozzle). I wait 24 hours to let the propellant gas to escape. Last night I was in a hurry so I put the jar with the paint into a water bath within my ultra sonic cleaner, 60 seconds later all the gas had been shaken out and it was ready to spray..

Thanks Viking, I really enjoyed it and I suppose knowing that I did it the hard way provides some degree of satisfaction I did a running build on our web site at Bristol F2B if you want to see the pain!! I have got another 2 of Eduards F2B in the stash with less tricky build schemes which I hope to get to soon.

Doh after spending hours and hours placing the kit masks on mine , this is obvious. I also found out after I painted mine red that it was black . Hey ho the finished model is rather eye catching!

Airfix's lovely Sea Vixen , built OOB apart from some foil seatbelts.

Looks very good - well done. I've got one on the workbench but I haven't got further than cutting the major parts off the sprue. I'm looking forward to getting on with what looks like an excellent kit.

I've just completed my first BMF on an 1/48 academy F-86 Sabre, my experiences 1. I used polished Aluminium over Tamiya X-1 Black over Tamiya Grey Primer , which gave a really nice finish. 1a. I was surprised how much paint I used 3/4 of a jar - plus a bit of spillage ( the jars are fairly unstable so make sure you pit the lid on asap) 2. It shows every surface blemish so make sure you take you time rubbing down, I spent hours and still got found out in places 3. I had a disaster using Mr Softener / Mr Settler trying to tease down the Academy decals ( which were rubbish) , they seemed to react with the Alclad in places (possibly it wasn't fully dry), I reverted to MicroSol / Set after I resprayed which was OK. 4. Because of the poor decals I Futured the airframe which did loose a little lustre but is OK 5. Used pro modeller to bring out the panel lines which when on fine. Ended up with a reasonable finish, the project was really about investigating Alcald prior to me having a go at Trumpeters Super Sabre, I'll post some photos when I have more time.

Carl It's looking very good, I look forward to the end result. I was offered a Helldiver recently but turned it down ( due to a pang of guilt from my ever expanding stash), I suspect I will live to regret missing the opportunity. Tony
