  1. E-mailed Mark Willey ([email protected]) yesterday (11:28) quoting WarthogMKL's message of 24 June. The rest of my message was "Strangely I never received a copy of this message though I am a long time subscriber and I have received plenty of emails from MA Pubs in the past. I checked my "spam" folder. My previous email to you promptly generated the May editions of my subscriptions. Rather than pester you I thought I would wait patiently for the June and July editions of my subscriptions to arrive. Again on Britmodeller at the weekend I saw an entry from someone that they had just received their magazines. As I am still waiting, and it is now almost the end of July I thought it was time to ask, 1. when I might finally receive my Jun & Jul editions of the magazines and 2. when distribution is finally going to become regular once more? Hoping to hear from you and receive the Jun & Jul editions of my subscriptions soon." I received the following reply (11:42): "Thank you for your email. June and July issues will be with you early next week shortly followed by August. We apologise for the delays which have been caused by issues beyond our control. Things will be returning to normal from September issues we hope. Best regards" The reply gave me hope and I asked if he would be happy for me to publish his reply on Britmodeller. The reply was "Yes please go ahead and do so." hence this post. It would appear that perhaps the original reply was a "blanket" response given Samuraiwarrior's earlier post. Like everybody I am getting fed up with the excuses but I thought I would help "spread the word". Time will tell.
  2. Hello Dave, Thank you for the suggestion. While I will try and contact @Ex-FAAWAFU, being a "Newbie" I am not sure how this is done. Could you perhaps give him a heads up? Thanks again, Iain
  3. Hello Seahawk, Thank you for the reference list. As mention, I do not have access to my book & magazine collection. I currently have no income. Whilst I have bought a couple of downloads on-line I am very much trying to avoid spending money particularly when I already have what I am looking for but cannot get to it. Hence this request on Britmodeller. Perhaps I should have given my request a catchier title? Thank you again. Iain
  4. Hoping someone can help. I am a former Fleet Air Arm Sea King pilot (1978-1990) and have been a volunteer at Morayvia (Morayvia.org.uk) for the last few years. We are intended to put on a display about the hunt for, and sinking of the Bismarck for the forthcoming 80th anniversary of this event. It is hoped for the display to be part of Morayvia's exhibits, assuming we can open this season, and/or a virtual (www.morayvia.org.uk/virtual-morayvia-experience) exhibit. Whilst the display will be concerned mainly with the Coastal Command involvement, given Morayvia's links to RAF Kinloss, as the "token" (tame?) ex RN/FAA representative, I have volunteered (been co-opted?) to research/collate/present the RN/FAA or should that be Naval Aviation involvement in the Bismarck operation. Within the display/exhibit we intend to have a "What They Were Like To Fly (In)" section. Because of this I am looking for photocopies/or scans of the "A View From The Cockpit" articles that used to be part of aircraft type articles in the earlier days of Air Enthusiast (when it was a monthly) then Air International. The whole article would be useful too. The aircraft types that I am trying to find articles for are; FAA Swordfish Walrus Fulmar Martin Maryland RAF Sunderland Catalina Beaufort Hudson Early Photo Recce Spitfire - though I am guessing there was never a specific article for these. I have several (too many?) books, and a full set of AE & AI magazines to which I could refer, but thanks to a much delayed house move they are in storage and unavailable, hence this request. It is not the intention to display the articles. Those of us creating this display/exhibit are all ex-aircrew/pilots and want to use them to get a feel for "What They Were Like To Fly (In)" so that we can try to pass this on. It is intended to have "scripts" ready by mid-April so I regret that time is starting to press. Hoping that someone or more may be able to help. Sincerely, Iain former Lt. RN. 814, 819, 826 & 706 NAS's
  5. Hello all, This only my second ever post and I hope I have raised it in the correct section after the furore my first post caused. I have recently bought an old Airfix Chieftain Tank kit online. I am wondering if someone has put a more recent edition of the kit in an old box because the tracks are black, when I seem to remember the tracks were a dull silver colour when I built the kit when it first came out 50 years ago or so. However I paid little more than for a current "Series 2" kit so not too bothered. There's the background, my question is, can anybody suggest a reliable glue/adhesive to join the tracks? I live in Morayshire and the nearest "model" shops are over an hour away, so something available from a hardware type shop/store is probably the most available. Though the tracks will be hidden by the side skirts, I don't really want to faff about with needle and thread or staples. I look forward to suggestions. Cheers, TMMNET
  6. Hello All, I have recently bought a small pile of Aeroclub (I think) 1/72 ejection seats. I have old Aeroclub catalogues, though not immediately to hand, and they were not illustrated. Does anybody have, or know where I might get, an illustrated list of the seats that Aeroclub produced so that I might properly identify the seats I have bought. Hoping someone might be able to help. Thanks in advance. PS - This is also listed in the Cold War section
