Thank You! I forgot all the process of painting, but yes. Firstly, I painted with black gloss primer from Alclad, and then I used Alclad's Duraluminium. For paneling, I used Bilmodel's Duraluminium. The exhaust was painted with Mr. Hobby Burnt Iron and a mix of Bilmodel's paints for exhausts. But the most impressive effect I achieved was from salting with matte transparent paint XF-86. I focused on the panel lines to intensify this effect on them. I think that this effect had the most impact on the visual perception of the model.

Hi everybody! I want to share with You my last model. It is polish MiG-21MF. The first MiG-21's delivered to Poland were not painted with silver paint but remained in the natural color of the metal. I decided to make just that a MiG.

Next step. Boomerang was painted with the target camouflage colors and coveredby layer of clearcoat. Scratches were improved. Some of them, the ones on the fuselage, need to be painted over a bit. The boomerangs were not so scratched except that, the paint faded more on them. So the next step will be to vary the shade of brown on the plywood fuselage part. Some info about chipping - when applying MiG heavy chipping fluid, you need to make sure that it is applied with a well-dispersed stream. Where I allowed too large a drops on the surface, the paint was scratching off with larger pieces, which does not look very good on this scale. One question. Code letters ZA O on decals are light gray. On the photo looks like white. Is somebody knows, what color should I use?

I would like to show my last model. It is Hellcat MkI , known and popular E-L from HMS Emperor. It was very easy to bulid. This model was from weekend edition series, that I mount it only during weekends. It took eight weekends. I try to focus on painting and make some dirty. After painting I come to conclusion, that I overdid dirt, because you can see it too intensive in the pictures. Enjoy!

Hello everybody! Some weeks ago I started building it few weeks ago. This is the CA-12 boomerang and I will try to make the aircraft number A46-95, registration ZA-O. This model is slightly valorised. I made some extra parts in the cockpit and replaced the engine with a quickboost. Also I made some additional elements in gear wells. I would like to do some nice weathering, I have some photos as reference, but they are in black and white. Looking at the photos, I came to the conclusion that the plane had worn pavements on the wings along the fuselage, a bruised leading edge, and some patches on the engine cowling. Also, clearly visible in the photos, especially the brown color, it is more faded than on the metal covers. I have only one photo with my model, but I can see a brown stain painted over the top of the fuselage behind the cabin. Could it be painted a fresh brown, or could it be green? Anyone have some information?

Hello everybody! It's time to start my new work. some time ago I bought RS-Models' P-38F Lightning. I decided to make "bat out of hell" flown by Lt James Hagenback. There are some strange infos about yellow outer wing leading edges, wingtips and spinners, but I think there some light and shadow play on one of the famous photo. Also I found discussion on Hyperscale about this: https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/hyperscale/bat-out-of-hell-p-38f-yellow-wingtips-and-t132034.html My decision is to paint everything in classical comuflage forthis plane: olive drab and medium grey . Other thing is the question about cockpit cover below windscreen. I see that, it is dismounted in lot of photos. Is somebody knows history about this? With cover: : Without cover: Some more photos:

Derelict Mig-21
Sebastian Lachowicz replied to Cellarfrog's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Great job. Last two days I started to think about old mat aluminium surface and I can see it in your model. Regards! -
Thank You for all good words. I didn't imagine that my model will be so compliment. It was only training in weathering, because my previous model looked like dirty toy, not miniature of weathered plane. Making this model I used first time chipping effect technique with MIG chipping fluid. I used it between paint layers. First layer was Vallejo aluminium silver, next gloss varnish (X-22). Next I cover all surface with chipping fluid. There was some wrong, becuse this layer was too thick. Next layer was primer color - Tamiya XF-4 and I made first scratching. Next layer were camouflage colours and again chipping fluid. On chipping fluid layer I repeated camouflage colors but little lighter and I scratched these layers. It made effect of different thickness of paint layer and made additional effect on surface. After taht I cover everything again with gloss. On this layer I used oil paints - mixing black, white and brown to make different fluid leaks on fuselage and wings. I made it several times, and tapped it with brush and ear stick and rub it with paper towel. When I decided that effect is good enough, I cover everything again with gloss. At this moment I made classic wash with dark gray oil paint.

F4U-1D Corsair - 1/48, Tamiya.

Awesome work! -
That's end of my struggling with Corsair. My goal was to make model based on the workshop more experienced modeller and based on original photo. I realized that as good as I could. There are difficult to make signs of exploatation, scratch, dirt, stains of fluids. It is not perfect but I think much better than in my previous model. Model represents Corsair MkII JT260 on board HMS "Unicorn". There is some error in my side, because I used revell's model which represents Corsair manufactured by Goodyer FG-1D - in british markings MkIV. Differences beetwen versions are another propeller, with slimmer blades, no air inlets on fuselage. Also, model is not perfect too. There are different shape lower surface of wing flaps, they are too short, too long engine cooling flaps. In engine section engine cowling are too short and mismatched shape of that, cooling flaps and upper part of fuselage. To make model I used eduard's photoetched parts and techmod's decals. Numbers on fuselage are painted by template masks.

Corsair Mk II FAA "P54" Revell 1:72
Sebastian Lachowicz replied to Sebastian Lachowicz's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Almost finished. There are some mistakes. The propeller is incorrect, becauseI used F4U-1D model to make Corsair MkII- F4U-1A. There are some unplanned dirt and I haven't ideas for undersurface. Also I show You my firs Corsair which I made two years ago. -

Ok. I prepared new masks. I think it's a little bit better. Also, I made wash and more dirt and streaks by oil paints. Next step it will be warnish on upper surfaces. Next I will take care on bottom surface. -
Corsair Mk II FAA "P54" Revell 1:72

I made next steps with corsair. I made "sidewalk" on the wings and scratch it. Next, I made some dirt using oil paints for artists and prepare template for roundels on fuselage and wings and at this moment I was pleased with effects. At next step I used salt technique and it made a disaster. I'm not happy with dots, spots and stains on the fuselage. I will try to paint it and make effect again. Also, I have to make new template for markings, because it is very distorted now. If you have some ideas to help, describe that please. -
STRIKE TEST TOMCAT IN WORK
Sebastian Lachowicz replied to Collin's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
Good work. Consequently, step by step, without chaotic airbrush spraying. Is it possible to see original plane photo? I can't see photos in first post. -

Continue with chipping. Beetwen first and second layer of camouflage, I covered surface with MIG chipping fluid. Next I put some water on surface and rub with brush. It makes quite good effect. In some places I used brush moistened in Vallejo thinner, which react gently with gunze paint. -

Thank You for all good words. This model is for weathering training. To take bigger care about details I will use another, better model i.e. tamiya. I found few mistakes in this model. First - cooling flaps are too long, flaps have different shape in comparing to drawings, and there are missing fabric grooving on the wing ends. Also I had a little trouble with matching cowling at the top of fuselage and engine. Anyway, model is quite good, much better than old heller's/smer corsair. -
Hello! I start to build characteristic model of Corsair. I found one photo and advanced workshop on polish forum. I try to make some of that. Revell's model is quite detailed, but parts are not very good mismatched. Model is used to try make advanced weathering. I place some photos below. I finished at painting camouflage and preapring to make dirt, oil and surface scratch.
