  1. Thanks dov! I use Vallejo Model and Vallejo primer. I dilute the paint with tap water at a 1/1 ratio. But i don't dilute the primer.
  2. Hi guys!! So this is my 3rd model and I have deceided to go with the GWH F-15C. I prefer the F-15E color scheme so I deceided to go that route even if it is not 100% accurate.. Also, I didn't hide the avionics bay because I kind of like the details in there and I wanted to show them. Hope it doesn't bother you that much The kit is great and I had no real big issues with it, fits nicely from start to finish!! Since everything is brushed I went with Vallejo paint just like my other 2 models, this paint is really good for Hand Brushing!! I have put some pics of the 3 jets just for fun Thanks for watching!! Hope you enjoy!! I am opened to any constructive comments if you have some tricks for hand brushing!! Thanks a lot guys!! P.S. I also put a pic of the next one on my stach, feel free to comment and tell me what you think or give some advices if you have done it!!
  3. The seller told me the carrier's flight to america were delayed because of the Virus.. I bought other things in asia and received them so looks like nothing is coming out or going into europe..
  4. Thanks! I will go with the Massachusets one and I will paint it like the F-15E cause I really love this color. I know it is not historicaly accurate but I just prefer this paint scheme
  5. Hi guys, So this is my 3rd model since I have come back from my 20 year modeling break. So far this is a good kit with good engineering. The fuselage is almost all built and the engines are ready to be painted, with the tubes fitted inside them. Since I display my models in flight, I don't need the wheels so I use them to center the tubes inside the engines as you can see on the pictures. I bought the pilot on ebay and it is still stuck in europe so I will have to fit it at the end.. ish.. Thanks for watching!!
  6. I will never judge someone's work we all have our techniques and erverything and I'm sure it is not as bad as you seem to say We are here to help each other!!
  7. The base is a simple piece of Pine wood, 3/4 thick, 4 inches x 6 inches, tinted in black. I drill holes in it to fit the acrylic rods. I cut and glue plastic pipes in the jet and make sure they are strong enough to hold the weight of the jet, sadly I don't have any pictures of that, I will take some during my next build. Then I heat the rods with a heat gun and bend them around a metal paint jar that I have (DON'T FORGET TO WEAR GLOVES!! THEY GET REALLY HOT!!) I do both at the same time to get the exact same shape. You can even modify the angle as you wish after, as I did this morning, took about 5 minutes. That's it! As simple as that!
  8. Haha Yesss Texantomcat long live the old timers!! loll I assume you brush your models too, would love to see your work mate!!!
  9. Thanks Stelangton! Really easy to do! Let me know if you want some info
  10. Thanks mate!! Yes it does come with the pilot and you even have 2 helmet options
  11. Thank you very very much guys!!! Really appreciate all the kind words!! Thanks!!
  12. Hi guys, So here is my 2nd build since I've come back to the hobby, my 1st Corona build loll I chose the Raptor because it's my favorite jet and I wanted to have one on my stash And I went with the Hasegawa because of the reviews I saw on the net. Altough it's just my 2nd serious build, I have to say this kit is absolutely unbelievable! The fit is absolutely great and it needed almost no filler at all, I was really impressed by the ingineering, really unbelievable!! The only down side are the decals, they were an absolute pain to apply and some are really not applied to my liking, don't know why because I did the same process that I did with my Revell and it turned out good on it so.. I even tried the Mr.Mark setter and softer but did not change a thing.. Maybe just a lack of experience here.. As for the paint, the camo was already a big challenge for me to do so I did not try to get the ''metallic sheen'' that the Raptors have, just did a matt coat after the paint job. I think it doesn't look that bad actually, I'm ok with it for a 2nd build.. I did all the camo free hand with no masking, I was absolutely terrified to do it that way but in the end I think it turned out not that bad!! It was not really that hard to do just need to be carefull and patient!! I went with the same kind of stand as my F-18, Easy to do and it does the job!! So that's it thanks for looking at it and as always I'm opened to any construtive comments guys!! Thanks!!! P.S. The next one is already on the bench, the GWH F-15 C, and I plan to paint it like the F-15 E because I absolutely love the E color!! I know it is not historicaly accurate but I don't think the Scale Modeling God will be that angry and also I have to put a pilot in it and one is enough of a job at this time in my modeling carreer
  13. Thanks mate! I did some testing with the Model Air yesterday and I discovered that strait out of the bottle, I had little brush marks, so I thinned it at a ratio of 2 parts paint to 1 part water and got a much better result with no brush marks so I will try that with my Raptor and hope for the best!
  14. Thanks Gary! It's just that this is the way I have always done my models so for me that's how we do it, and I also loved it back in the days so I wanted to continue that way I didn't even know that poeple were doing it with an airbrush these days and when I discovered it I tough man they are missing so much fun! Also brush painting is a real challenge and when you succed at it it's kind of satisfying loll Another thing I find is that airbrush looks really messy and needs a lot of maintenance, and you need a spray booth and everything.. Don't really want to go that route.. I'm not ''opposed'' to airbrushing and I'm not saying it is easy at all, it must be really hard to get the right mix of thinning, air pressure, angle, distance etc.. to have a great result, but you will never have to be carefull for the brush marks so maybe more forgiving than brushing.. I love the challenge of brushing everything!!
  15. Hahaha! I use those cans too, mr super clear it does a great job!!
  16. Haha!! Yeah Devo even if we are now about 1% of all the modellers in the world these days loll You still brush paint all your models too?
  17. Yes I made it but it is very simple! I made a sticker on Zazzle.com and bought it, then I put it on a pine wood base. Then I tinted it black. I bought 1/4 acrylic rods on Ebay, heated them to bend them, and insert them in the holes I did in the base and in the jet exhaust. I firmly glued some plastic tubes inside the model so the rods would go inside those and it would be solid enough to hold the jet.
  18. Your link seems really intersting! I doubdt I will be able to achieve such a result but I will try to.. lolll
  19. Thnaks a lot Al!! Would like to see your Phantom I'm sure it's beautiful too! As for my brushes I use 3/4 inche flat brushes for large areas, alsways clean them with water after use and put them in a jar with the brissles in the air without anything touching them. It seems to help keeping the brushes in good condition.
