  1. I have never had the pleasure of seeing a real live Barracuda (fish or airplane) but when I see your example all I can say is "wow, just wow". Most modelers strive for the utmost in accuracy when they tackle a kit and I am pretty much the same way. Sometimes there is maybe only one kit available of a particular car, tank or plane and that kit may be crude and almost impossible to put together. That's when you have to put total accuracy aside and just build the thing. When the results are just like what you have achieved with this example, that makes the model every bit if not better than some other "shake the box and there you have it kit". When I first saw the result I said that's a Barracuda. It's not a P-51 or a Mig-21 or anything else. Looks to me like you nailed it.
  2. Excellent build. Top to bottom and front to back. Would love to have a try with this kit but can't bring myself to purchase it yet.
  3. The scheme is great weather it was only "planned" or not. The light gray sides and tail really break up the usual green and tan colors nicely. I am really beginning to like the overall shape of the Arma Hurricanes as compared to the other 72nd scale Hurricanes. Somehow or another it just looks more correct to me. Others may point out which 72nd Hurricanes are better and I would welcome their comments. Really liking the job you did on this kit.
  4. That looks very nice. When I see AFV Club for a kit manufacturer I always think of armor kits but it looks like they do a pretty good job with aircraft as well. The colors look great too by the way.
  5. Nice start! but in order to seal the deal on a new tool Beaufort you must do at least 2 more builds on the same level as this fine example. I'm anxiously awaiting for the results of both your builds and the new tool. 😉
  6. Love your choice of markings. There are just so many neat schemes to do on this kit. Love the silver finish that you achieved too.
  7. Great job and an awesome finish on that one. Another kit that needs to go into my stash someday.
  8. The step behind the canopy is barely noticeable so I wouldn't mind it too much. However with a build that is almost 30 years old you might want to try a little Oil of Olay on the spine..... it is good for sagging skin. 😉
  9. I wholeheartedly agree with what petetasker said. Truly awesome. Todder
  10. That is very cool! I always enjoy seeing aircraft that are not done by nearly every model manufacturer. Not that I don't mind the countless Mustangs and Spitfires either. This just shows the model manufacturers that some lesser known types are appreciated by model builders as well. Cheers!
  11. Oh, and one more thing. Grab that little puppy and run it around the room a few times on a couple test flights. Don't forget to provide the proper engine noises while you are at it. You both deserve it. 😀
  12. No matter how we may try, you can't make a silk purse from a sow's ear. You have managed however, to make a very nice everyday hand bag from a few barely recognizable plastic air plane pieces. Nice job! I am kind of in the same boat as you currently. On my bench I have 3 kits that I am fiddling with. One is the new tool Airfix Buccaneer (probably my favorite British jet). At the other end of the spectrum is a KP kit of the Avia BH-3 (yes, 24 kit parts in all). Somewhere in the middle of all that is an AMT kit of a '66 Ford Thunderbird that I am trying to make it resemble the same car that my brother owns. The most difficult one is the Ford Thunderbird as I am not even attempting to "nut out" the details on the BH-3. If the BH-3 can stick together and hold paint I will call it a success. I would say that you were very successful in your endeavor. Cheers Todders
  13. Cool color scheme and it looks great. Especially next to the F-15.
  14. Awesome build ! What kit did you use for that? Todders
  15. I have to agree with your opinion about the more recent Airfix releases not quite up to the same par as previous releases. Here in the U.S. they have taken an up-tick in prices too but that may be the result of the actions of our Cheerless Leader or the distributors in the U.S. . Still, after having seen your model I think I may have to get me one of these too. Very nice! Cheers Todder
  16. Awesome! nuthin' like a little off road flyin' to get the juices flowin'.
  17. Great model and great introduction too. When I read that I was drinking some coffee...….. which almost managed to exit my body through my nose. ☕🤧
  18. Awesome job on that kit. Makes me want to do a Skyhawk in those colors.
  19. Excellent build! It is hard to believe that somewhere in all of that plastic and resin there is a Monogram Hellcat lurking. Back in the mid seventies I built one as a kid. It was probably one of the first 5 Monogram fighters that I had built.
  20. Terrific build! I wouldn't change anything either. I have to ask the same question as Doc72.... Where do you put something that big? The 2 biggest kits in my stash are Monogram's B-29 and Ertl's KC-135 and I look at the box and ask myself where would I display it if I built it?
  21. Very cool! I just wish this kit was available here in Utah. I may have to let the mail man bring it to me as this is one of my favorite jet aircraft. The fuselage shape looks as if it managed to get a girdle that is too small up past its hips and stuck around its midsection .
  22. Awesome Possum! I think it would be neat to paint up a Javelin to look like a Dorrito's chip, since that is what they remind me of. 😃 …. Or maybe a pizza slice? Todders
  23. The markings are very convincing. Good Job on an old kit too. Todders
  24. Wonderful job! I can tell you gave just as much attention to all of the accessories in the diorama as you did to the kit itself. I have always felt that the Italian F-104's were some of the nicest looking 104's. Bravo Angelo. Todders
  25. Best photo of the lot is the one with the "Kitty" lying on its back with it's wheels up in the air showing off all of its angry parts. Awesome!...… Careful where you pet it. 🐈
