    Hello BM

Hello everyone I've been treading the well-worn path of doing a bit of modelling as a kid, before slowly discovering guitars, cars, university, racing bicycles, that sort of thing (not all of which I've entirely given up) until a few years ago when my wife bought me an Airfix DH88 as a Christmas present after we'd spent an afternoon at the Shuttleworth Collection with some friends of ours. I've since found returning to my roots (like a lot of people I suspect, I picked this up originally from my dad, who was much better at this than I ever was, although I think we used to take it in turns to take the blame for the superglue spilt on the dining table) a thoroughly enjoyable way to pass the time. I've learnt an awful lot from hanging around here over the last couple of years, and I've picked up a lot of tips. A great deal of the work on display is quite something to behold and I don't mind admitting there are a few posters whose new builds I really enjoy following. Having gained a lot from lurking at the back for long enough, I thought it was probably time to put my head above the parapet and say hello and include a couple of photos of what I've been up to. All 1/72, because that's what I built as a kid and I'm more likely to justify the display space! The first kit I'd built for almost 30 years Getting my eye in Aftermarket parts, after I'd uncovered a whole new world of consumer spending The Vampire was what kept me sane while working from home over lockdown, being able to devote a bit more time to it than the odd snatched half-hour here and there. I've got a certain interest in aerial photography, so I wanted to save this kit until I'd got the hang of things a bit. I made slightly heavy work of all the added bits and bobs (some of which are even visible to the naked eye) although I'm quite pleased with it. Time to press Submit and find out whether I do or don't know how to post images from Flickr! Cheers all JonS
