Hello everyone I've been treading the well-worn path of doing a bit of modelling as a kid, before slowly discovering guitars, cars, university, racing bicycles, that sort of thing (not all of which I've entirely given up) until a few years ago when my wife bought me an Airfix DH88 as a Christmas present after we'd spent an afternoon at the Shuttleworth Collection with some friends of ours. I've since found returning to my roots (like a lot of people I suspect, I picked this up originally from my dad, who was much better at this than I ever was, although I think we used to take it in turns to take the blame for the superglue spilt on the dining table) a thoroughly enjoyable way to pass the time. I've learnt an awful lot from hanging around here over the last couple of years, and I've picked up a lot of tips. A great deal of the work on display is quite something to behold and I don't mind admitting there are a few posters whose new builds I really enjoy following. Having gained a lot from lurking at the back for long enough, I thought it was probably time to put my head above the parapet and say hello and include a couple of photos of what I've been up to. All 1/72, because that's what I built as a kid and I'm more likely to justify the display space! The first kit I'd built for almost 30 years Getting my eye in Aftermarket parts, after I'd uncovered a whole new world of consumer spending The Vampire was what kept me sane while working from home over lockdown, being able to devote a bit more time to it than the odd snatched half-hour here and there. I've got a certain interest in aerial photography, so I wanted to save this kit until I'd got the hang of things a bit. I made slightly heavy work of all the added bits and bobs (some of which are even visible to the naked eye) although I'm quite pleased with it.
