  1. You've done a great job on an old kit. Love those Firebirds schemes.
  2. Very nice Tremblers Phantom. I think the Fujimi kits make better models than the Airfix version; the panel lines are too prominent on the latter. By all means hang what you want on your creations, but I very much doubt a 111 Sqn jet ever carried anything other than an air defence load out as 111 was a dedicated air defence unit. The support to the RN was to provide air defence of the fleet, a task the FGR2 was admirably suited to. The extra 'R' compared to the FG1 meant that the aircraft had the capability to carry the specially developed centreline reconnaissance pod. The other differences were the extendable nose wheel leg and slatted tailplane on the FG1 to enable operation from RN carriers, which the FGR2 lacked. Both were equally capable in the air defence role.
  3. I don't think that's a hook. Probably part of the brake chute mechanism, maybe after deployment and not yet re-packed. It was only the 2A and 6 that needed a hook because the brakes were not necessarily able to cope with the extra weight onlanding in the event of a chute failure.
  4. Very nice, but no need to bother with the hook, only the F2A and F6 had them in RAF service.
  5. Fantastic job with the Airfix F3, great finish and those 43 Sqn markings look superb.
  6. Lovely. Brings back happy memories of spending my pocket money on one as a kid. But imagine being asked to go up against a Zero in one of those!
  7. Very nice Phantom, particularly like the restrained panel lines and that you haven't gone overboard with weathering.
