  1. Yeah... ha ha. Higher temperatures upset the fresh/saltwater flow and that results in Weird Things Happening(tm). This is also recorded in ice cores and sediments - previous ice age cycles show similar patterns. https://www.nature.com/scitable/knowledge/library/abrupt-climate-change-during-the-last-ice-24288097/ And since we're still in the recovery period of a minor ice age event, that makes that the added human-generated stuff accelerates some of that change. So, speaking from the perspective from someone who lives in a country that is below current sea level for a good 30+%, I'm not that amused.
  2. What Heather already said - and FRROM aren't exactly from the same stable (like CMK or Planet) - rather they contract out the moulding & manufacturing to SH.
  3. Eh The people (like us) who can be bothered to use the correct ones have their own favourite paint brands and rarely follow the scheme instructions anyway And it's a gift/starter set. We're not the target audience. Even says so on the box.
  4. ....which is already underway in the guise of the FRROM one..
  5. APC Decals (Czech) did replacement ones for the standard options for the kit. As it happens, I got my grubby mitts on another Wellesley last weekend, and I'm looking at doing K7556 instead - the pre-production/Prototype. I could check the sheet on mine - if they're ok, they're yours. --- Besides some mask sets, I bought this aesthetically challenged .... thing. Bit hard to wrap your head around the idea that this is a 1953 design that was still being proposed as the Il-102 in the mid-1980s as competitor to the Su-25 . https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ilyushin_Il-102
  6. The 1/72 Trumpy Gannet I'm happy to do wings down as is (or even in-flight with that extended radome), but this one is definitely going folded. Waiting for shipping, very curious.
  7. A somewhat better worded news article here. https://www.defensenews.com/air/2023/11/15/pratt-wins-engine-work-contract-to-keep-aging-b-52-awacs-flying/ It is indeed a stop-gap measure.
  8. From all the other previous newsitems (WBN, VAN and others) on this plane, the City developers owned the immobilia and everything in it - including the plane. Work on the restoration was suspended in 2014, and it was left unguarded. Ownership was not transferred to any organization or charity so strictly speaking, to the letter of the law, Irvine Company can do what it wants with it. Stupid, despicable, boneheaded, but money is money.
  9. It is the Tonka of choice in 1/48. And frequently re-released by Revell and reboxed by Eduard. Tough business proposition. The Jag however..
  10. Re: fuel tanks, same for the PR spits, as recounted here.
  11. Paging @Corsairfoxfouruncle - Polish! One side window! Four blade prop!
  12. Can you explain to me the difference in perception between a competition ranking order and a points-based rank order?
  13. Only the C series indeed, not in the H. Alternatively the MRP set would work.
  14. Ok, you had me giggling for a bit there I did take advantage of the Black Friday discount on the Sabre - at half the price I'll deal with it. Re: Hunter - the latest FGA.9 box has some extra bits & correction info. Maybe that satisfies your desires a bit better.
  15. Btw: that is hog heaven for FAA stuff, that Flickr stream!
  16. I think there are plenty of examples of builds floating around if you care to look for them. Also, the Group build section might be a good source - look for a P-47 Group build and there's bound to be several Tamiya builds.
  17. As close to the original as you can get it. The total silence at the end probably says it all. Sorry, someone seems to be cutting onions here.
  18. Oooooh... the Anaconda. I will have a look at that once we kick off. It is fairly big though, having seen the Tu-128.
  19. This sounds like a good excuse to build some of the bigger box items.. There's a Ki.67 and a Ki.46 that if built, will clear some space* *bold move Cotton, let's see how that works out!
  20. Everyday thing that currently often leads to brisk discussions or even shifts in elections (like we had) compared to 17th century 'golden age' period: Based on research from archives, primitive census data and other primary sources, Amsterdam had less than 25% native Dutch population in that time. (social) Darwinism went out of fashion some time ago for good reasons. It isn't exactly natural when people make legislation and formalise the selection process & proceed with medical procedures to effect them. That's called Eugenics. Don't go there.
  21. What, browsers come in resin too now? /runs
  22. Just compared a couple of other kit instructions, Meng, Hasegawa and Monogram/Revell all seem to be going for GZC/Interior Green and steel/silver.
  23. Yes. All the other references to the formation shot behind a Herk seem to be missing that particular thing..
  24. Was that part of the Shop Display GB at ESM? I missed that one!
  25. Got myself these. Two sided, lots of room. For generic storage, it's either a simple drawer cabinet or something like this for easy storage & visibility
