  1. Translation in the context of the discussion: "you're not telling me what I want to hear!"
  2. Except in the preliminary box art, they're hanging down vertically.
  3. Something didn't look quite right to me with the placeholder boxart. Earlier this evening I was going through some pictures of stored Tooms and then the penny dropped - it's the leading edge slats & aux doors. Although... the latter isn't per se wrong on an in-flight Phantom:
  4. Goblins turn up every now and then outside the Bay too. Don't give up hope yet ESM bounty. Not depicted is some Quickboost thingies that were marked down to 1€ each, but: Cheap kits! Finally found the Academy early Allison P-51, and the Airfix Fury. Those, and the A-7, refuelling set & Wellesley were all around a tenner. And one of the vendor stands was selling the duo Special Hobby Mirage F.1 for 25€ which is an absolute steal, compared to the normal pricing around 60€. All in all, within budget for the day too.
  5. Silly me, and I was thinking we were reverting back to ancient pictographs like the Egyptians and Aztecs used to employ... Sorry, that was all blokes.
  6. Just the barrels? https://www.scalemates.com/kits/vector-vds32003-browning-m2-3-cal-machine-gun-oval-barrel-perforations--261363 https://www.aviationmegastore.com/en/modelling/browning-m2-03-cal-flex-oval-perforation-4x-vector--resin-vds32003-111336.html
  7. And the SH one. A certain Belgian subject comes to mind... My money's on a Hurricane though. Revell may have done a Mk.II but the other alternative for a Mk.I in 1/32 is the Fly or the PCM kit which is not everyone's cup of tea.
  8. Guess I'd better not tell you about the Reskit exhausts then
  9. It's just the bare wing. No top fuselage panel to seal the hole, neither lift struts or a wing join plate present (as with the ESCI/Italeri and the Academy kits) Of course, one could scratch those... especially if you take the Academy parts as template.
  10. Sensors inside the intake were on both sides for at least the J-79 Phantoms.... As far as the vents is concerned, Aerocraft made replacement splitters for the Airfix Phantoms, so they may serve as inspiration apart from ref pics from the walkaround:
  11. https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?q=memphis+belle&fkSECTION[]=Kits&fkTYPENAME[]="Decals"&fkSCALENORMALISED[]="1:00072"&fkTYPEGROUP[]="Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress" Good hunting! [edit] It might be worth considering the otherwise meh Kitsworld set just for the nose art itself, and masking off the code letters.
  12. ^^ I think you make a very good point, actually. And there's nothing stopping SH from even doing a PR or B.XVI later instead of starting out with one of those variants.
  13. Slightly less vintage, but still a decent kit, that 1972 version.
  14. 11' Prop and barrels, wheels and pitot.
  15. Hm. That leaves 8 options for the inevitable Schnellbomber variant release then
  16. Considering the scale, you could also go for masking the code letters & serial numbers.
  17. I like the comparison tables in http://www.theworldwars.net/resources/file.php?r=camo_usn Also has a good timeline for when what scheme was introduced. With of course the caveat that colour perception is somewhat subjective, so each person will have their own personal preference in paint brand.
  18. You mean completely tossed aside the tooling and made complete new drawings for them in CAD, then had the mould makers go over the iterations with test shots, adaptations, and all that, basically all the work for an entirely new kit? I'll leave you to guess how likely that is. That said: joining the queue and watching along.
  19. Two companies doing XB-70s in 1/144 in a short timeframe? What is this world coming to!
  20. 500 on the centerline was pretty common in 2TAF in late 1944. @Archelaos : Eduard have the bomb carrier and 500lb as separate set 672121.
  21. All green (Bronze green if I'm not mistaken). But remember that the body & tail are kept separately, so the tail would be relatively clean as opposed to the shell. Looks like the regular 2x 250lb GP under the wings and 500lb under the fuselage.
  22. Not to put a finer point on it, but posting that (multiple times) in every topic where some manufacturer doesn't release what you'd like to see is getting a bit tiresome. Have you considered skipping a thread if it isn't what you prefer to see?
