  1. It works for me (could just be that it is the middle of the night though!) My fingers are crossed for anything but injection to get across the line as I have a white metal kit I want to make next year!
  2. Wow! That is really nice modelling and photography.
  3. I would like to do this, hopefully with a 1/72 Eduard 601sqn mk IX (but probably not the one in the kit because I suck at bare metal finishes). This may change so i will keep you posted!
  4. I am useless at snow. However, there are some great snow and ice tutorials on youtube, Kathy Millet did an entire series which would be worth checking out.
  5. It tends to be a little (a lot really I guess) over scale but i like the effect a sand textured paint gives for concrete runways. Pop it on a card or wood base and then overpaint as normal to match the real runway. Remember that concrete is not a perfect grey and enjoy the fact it is cheap and quick compared to a kit and just experiment and have fun with it. There are some great concrete tutorials on YouTube, Luke Towen and Kathy Millet being the names to look for. Both are more aimed at railway modellers but for 1/144 that is pretty well ideal.
  6. My favorite technique for trees is to use teddy bear stuffing. 1. Tease it out out and then stick to the armatures with with PVA/evostick. 2. Spray the whole lot your desired colour (usually a grey/brown for me). 3. Using hair spray or water/PVA mix (pop a drop of washing up liquid or alcohol in to break up surface tension) spray the netting to stick on your flock. I quite like the woodland scenics ground foam for small scales (1/48 and smaller). For bigger bits I would thoroughly recomend considering leaf products. Noch amongst others do some.
  7. Excellent work GRK! Also Badder thank you for sharing those tips, really useful!
  8. That is a great model! I really must get down to sywell at some point!
  9. Ooh that sucks. I am sure you will sort it out though. And once it is done it will make a better story!
  10. Lovely aircraft! I am looking forwards to watching this unfold.
  11. What a lovely little model, really nicely done!
  12. Looking very nice! Did you rectify the seatbelts or are you learning to love it?
  13. Nicely finished, great work! The search light came our pretty well when you consider the scale!
  14. That is a really neat solution to mounting on a stand! Is it something you have tried before?
  15. Looks like a good job on fixing those sink holes, keep going on this one, O cant waot to see it finished!
  16. I did come across a guy who used margerine tubs to provide thin styrene for detailing and scratchbuilding, lovely work too.
  17. I am really enjoying this, i like Nimrods a lots and this is coming along nicely! I wouldnt worry too much about the paintwork it looks ok to me!

    Hi all

Hello Oliver I do like a Mirage, I look forwards to seeing yours on here!
  20. That sounds cool, i love cars but haven't made a model of one since I was kid, my painting skills are still not good enough although I do have a few in my stash. I look forward to seeing your work!
  21. Ahh cool. I do like indutrial stuff, plenty of scope for weathering and interesting buildings! I am more of a constant scale but million different themes which never get finished type of modeller. (hence coming back to plastic so I can actually finish a project). Outside of railways what do you like making? I know War Department Light Railways are pretty popular, but I always prefered the idea of a logistics depot like the one at Kineton. No idea if anyone makes anything in 1/35 but they really should.
  22. This is really lovely so far, I am really looking forwards to seeing how the overpainted roundels come along!
