  1. Loving your Vampire collection, they look great. Might have to try one myself.
  2. I really like that. I remember reading about this many years ago. I think that’s a great model & a fantastic & very believable colour scheme. Also like the Rotodyne, I’ve never been brave enough to build one!
  3. Nice presentation & very nice finish, red is not an easy colour to get right!
  4. Oh wow, that’s the best ‘Battle of Britain’ Buchon I have seen, fantastic!
  5. Lovely model & fabulous interior. That colour scheme must have been difficult to recreate, love the dayglo orange.
  6. Funnily enough, further to the other guys saying they struggled with the new Meteor, I have too. Also a modeller in mid late 50s, modelling since childhood, I haven’t really enjoyed this kit. It reminds me of their Phantom, far too fiddly, doesn’t fit well & generally a frustrating project. I welcome the idea of a less stressful build, I’ll be giving it a go & hope this is the start of a more enjoyable series of models from Airfix.
  7. Wow, possibly the best Harrier model I have ever seen…
  8. A truly great result. I’ve tried this kit twice (glutton for punishment!) & it’s just not great. As you say, over complicated, doesn’t fit well & Matchbox-like panel lines, it’s such a missed opportunity. Yours really does look phantastic though.
  9. These are great, lovely decals & great photography. Comair in South Africa actually operated a number of 727s in some of these colour schemes as a BA subsidiary back in the 1990s.
  10. Easy build F-35B is a good idea. Imagine how many they can sell to kids at air shows, museums & other events for years to come. Look how much mileage they have had out of their ancient Typhoon (EFA originally!) & Tornado F3 sets. Gannet looks good but some of the reissues with new parts/decals caught my eye, 1/48 Meteor & Hunter in particular. A good spread of releases I think given the current financial climate.
  11. That looks fantastic, a lovely finish. When I used the Alley Cat conversion kit I ended up with so much super glue over my clumsy fingers that I left the Fireflash missiles off!
  12. Wow, really love that, it’s fantastic. You can just imagine the number of hours spent shaping & finishing it. Let’s never complain about a bit of short shot moulding again! Thanks for sharing it.
  13. That looks really great. Honestly, I wouldn’t pin wash it, those panel lines look perfect as they are. The F106 looks fast even standing still!
  14. Nice model, you’ve got a good finish on this one (no pun intended!). Love those markings.
  15. On the subject of price, I still would argue for the amount of time you spend building a model, this is a fairly cheap hobby. If the Airfix kit is that good that you don’t need to add after market products & an extra decal sheet it looks good. Also when you look at what’s in the box & factor in the number of man hours in research, development, production, printing & shipping costs plus staff wages & the fact that we all need Airfix as a company to make a profit otherwise their reason for existing ceases to be, I (& I accept this is a personal choice) think £24 is pretty reasonable.
  16. That’s amazing. I struggled with this kit, yours has turned out so much better than mine did!
  17. Wow, what a fantastic F-14. Your faded/weathered grey surface is the best I’ve ever seen.
  18. Really nice job on a good looking aircraft. The prototypes performed so well, sadly it all went wrong with the production models…
  19. Very nice little model Paul. An unusual look, not seen that tail before.
  20. Really like that & the Humbrol aluminium finish is amazing. My favourite variant of the Sabre!
  21. Looks fabulous. Can I ask what you use for the dayglo orange? It looks really bright & vivid.
  22. Love the Harrier trainer & yours looks fantastic, really good.
  23. That’s lovely. I bet that yellow finish took a lot of work, looks great though.
