  1. For the Landor Blue, try Humbrol no. 15 Midnight Blue. This is what the Airfix B732 calls for on the instructions. HTH Stuart

    Badger help

I got there eventually - there was a build up on the inside of the hole in the crown! I took the medium needle out of my B200 and turned it to bore out the hole and now it worky perfectly!! thanks for all your help guys. Rishi, I must remember to do that also as I haven't had the tip beeswaxed in a while. Thanks for that Stuartt

Hmm so hopefully because I've tried a new seal it may just need some vaseline and we're done. I'll try that and update with the result. Thanks for your help. Stuart

    Badger help

Update That's a negative on the tip being blocked.... Cleaned it out again and right enough more junk came out, made sure nothing was left on the needle, poked in a fine bit of wire, clean as a whistle. Put cellulose thinners in the cup and not a sausage!!! bubbles when the trigger pulled back , but that's it! I did take the crown off and lean the tip on my finger and the surface tension pulls the thinners through the hole, so it aint blocked - but somehow the liquid is not being blown through... I for one am stumped.... Anyone? Stuart

Update - it now doesn't blow any paint or thinners whatsoever! Getting back to your reply, I does look more like that the more I play with it, but the needle pokes all the way out the tip like it should. I will give the reverse needle trick a go... Thanks Gary Stuart

    Badger help

Hi guys. Since my old man nabbed me compressor for the week, I took the liberty of doing a front end strip down (oooh matron!) of my Badger 200 and 100G. I get the head assemblies dismantled, take the washers out and drop the tips and heads in cellulose overnight. I take them out, scrub out all the now spongy and soft cr** from inside, dry, polish, new washer and reassemble. (only relevant observation here is that the tip (crown) was a tighter fit onto the head than it was). I went to put some Vallejo model air through the 100 to preshade and it only released paint at the furthest back extremety of the control lever, and it splattered when I put some thinners through it. I also noticed bubbles in the paint cup... the spattering and bubbles point to the washer, but I tried the old and new one and the result was the same. Apologies for the long description but I hope someone can help. Thanks in advance. Stuart
  7. Tony, that's most unfortunate, nowhere on the Revell instructions was it indicated to remove the intake. I must remember that for subsequent F-86 builds Thanks Jim Anyway a quick update. More decals... the nose ones weren't as much trouble as I anticipated, nor was the fuselage cross with the intake underneath. Still lots to go, mainly stencils. I don't know if the silvering will be visible beneath the subsequent Klear coat and weathering, my fingers are crossed. As always, comments welcome. Stuart
  8. Thank you very much T. These tulip markings are very striking on the real bird, I just hope I can do it justice in 48th Over yesterday evening and this morning, I have been working on the fuselage crosses, one is right over an (APU?) intake so is taking time to settle over it with some microsol. Next I think I will tackle the nose tulip decals. Thanks for your kind comments again guys Stuart
  9. JD the flashes are painted with humbrol 69 (not as pale in real life as in the photos). The fin flash is on the decal but I trimmed that bit off and relied on the paint, so that the intake and fin colours matched. My masking needs a bit of work for next time but it does the job! Stuart
  10. Greetings all. It's been a while since I've posted, but I've been modelling still Here's Revell's Luftwaffe Sabre Decals in progress as you may see. the rear ones were a pain, the reg numbers not so much, but the reaction to microsol was unpredictable to say the least. More photos as I get moving (lots of decals on this one) Stuart
  11. Another good source is the cheap crappy military books in places like The Works and factory outlet places. A lot of the literature is too basic, or just plain childlike, but some have cracking diagrams and cutaways. In fact for the small price that some are available at, it'd be worth cutting out the pages and making a scrapbook lol!! HTH Stuart
  12. thin sheet styrene bent over the pipes and superglued might be easier. Just my 2p worth. Stuart
  13. As a Scotsman as well - has anyone tried Tesco's windscreen fluid - I find it great, could probably use a retarder for longer sessions, as I noticed a wee bit of tip-dry after I'd finished.... Stuart
  14. Superglue your favourite grades of W&D sandpaper to them - instant mini sanding stick for tight spots. Split the end for a mini chisel for removing goo from clear parts or small bits of overspray.. Thaaasands of uses!!! Stuart
  15. Hi, this may help you for reference photos. http://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.uk/bu...r/pictures.html HTH Stuart
