  1. I've been looking forward to this kit for a while and it looks fantastic but I have to say I won't be paying that asking price! Cheers, Carl.
  2. I still have mine although he's stuck together but unpainted, I was going to use him but decided against it. You're welcome to him if you want him, drop me a pm with your address and I'll stick him in the post. Cheers, Carl.
  3. After just reading "Dressed to kill" by Charlotte Madison (much the same as Ed Maceys book but from a womans point of view....and very good too!) I've been inspired to start my Revell Apache. I'll probably go for the Heritage set, thanks for posting the link to the pictures! Cheers, Carl.
  4. I've ordered one too....after seeing them at Fairford the other week! Cheers for the link! Carl.
  5. Evening all! It seems I'm extremely unlikely to complete this GB before the deadline owing to a house move. Most of our stuff is going into storage until the end of April when we get the keys to our new joint. Most of my modelling gear is at me old dorris's so I might plod along if I get a few hours there although again, this is unlikely. If the powers that be could move this to the "work in progress" thread I'd grateful. I will finish it though! Cheers, Carl.
  6. Today at Wallop there has been an Apache doing a display practice/workup and it has been for the last few days so it looks like there is likely to be one on the circuit this year.
  7. I bought mine when it first came out too (for about 40 quid odd) and was happy to do so having missed out on other kits thinking "I'll get one sometime" only for it to become gold dust.
  8. Nice job on the wings, I've got this set for an ambitious project some day. I'll be watching with interest! Cheers, Carl.
  9. I dunno, Revell re-release one of the kits that quite a few people have asked about in the past and all everyone does is grumble! I've ordered mine and for less than £18 I think it's a bargain, it may need some work but isn't that what it's all about? I know, let's wait until Italeri bring theirs out and complain about the price! Cheers, Carl.
  10. I'll be watching this one! I have this kit and thought about building it for this GB. Good start by the way! Cheers, Carl.
  11. Well it's been ages since my last update and in that time I've not really done all that much! I hate painting cockpits, mainly because I've seen what cracking jobs some people do and mine just don't turn out right. Anyway, it had to be done so here is my effort. I gave the tub and side walls a few coats of dark admiralty grey, I'm not too sure whether it's the right colour but I don't think it looks too far off so I'm happy with it. I then painted the panels black and gave them a dry brushing, adding a few dials and switches. I'm happy enough with it even though it looks a bit basic. I then glued it into one of the fuselage halves using epoxy. Next I set about the daunting task of glueing the two sides of the fuselage together, a dry fits shows that the engine can be installed afterwards. I then realised I'd forgotten to fit an important part....the nosewheel bay that fixes to the rear of the pit! After a bit of a panic I discovered that this will also shimmy in through the hole on the top of the fuse....phew! The fit I have to say is not too bad for a kit of this age and I've probably overdone the filler a little bit. A bit of filler on the conk.... One area that is shocking though.....the underside of the tailplanes. lots of filler needed! Thats all for now (I did say I haven't done much!) Cheers, Carl.
  12. Lovely model, excellent photographs too. Cheers, Carl.
  13. Nice model, lovely finish too. Cheers, Carl.
  14. It would be great if the 1/48 conversion was made available again.....I got a bit excited when I saw it listed below but i was disapointed to see that the tools are broken and there are no plans to fix them, doh! The 1/72 version does look nice though! Cheers, Carl.
  15. I usually wait and find Tamiya/Hasegawa kits that I'm after at shows, if you shop around you'll eventaully find what you're after for a reasonably price. I personally won't pay the prices that they're asking for some of the re-releases, I'll either build what's in the stash or vote with my wallet and buy Revell and Airfix kits that are fantastically priced for good quality kits. To be honest, whether he is right or wrong the OP was only saying what alot of people are thinking........ Cheers, Carl.
  16. Nice build, mine is sat waiting to be painted (and has done for about two years now!). Cheers, Carl.
  17. That really is a lovely model. Fantastic job on the painting. Cheers, Carl.
  18. That doesn't look all that similar to what the RAF have already got (albeit in a different role!) except it's got a dangly bit at the back rather than a daft dish on the top! I'd rather keep the VC-10 for several more years......much much more character than the 135! Cheers, Carl.
  19. I might give it a try! Cheers, Carl.
