Spent the last few evenings spraying the camo used Mr Color, the contrast is more subtle compared to other brands being used here. Even Mr Hobby Aqueous has better contrast. It intrigues me how the hue can vary between the two different carriers used. Anyway this is what it looks like

Finally getting to the painting stage after so much work on the engine covers. It's way from perfect but I've reach that point of diminishing returns. So hear she is with the base rlm76. I must confess I still need to do more work on the wing leading edge I just can't stand seeing a seem line. π€

Thanks James, no after market, dragon kits always come with pe which is good and bad. Unfortunately they are made of very hard steel so not easy to work with. At least.for the moment it went together. The next challenge will be installing it in the canopy memories of the last build still haunt me.

Finished off the landing gear and the very fiddly canopy track

Enzo's JG301 Project - Part 4: FW 190A-8

nice work Enzo -
If you ever build a dragon kit you need to do this so that the bottom part if the wing fits correctly this will also reduce the need for filler on the wing root as well.

Yes this was fun thanks to everyone for contributions across the threads. I have to ask why weren't thier more votes?

I was having a look at my Hasegawa 1/32 first tooling of the 190 and its all raised details, it's no surprise I did expect it but I'm curious why do you think the new tooling has very little detail? I've noticed this from other manufacturers too. When they release a new tool they move to recessed panel lines but skimp on the detail.

Eduard 1/48 A-8 and A-9 JG301 - finished
Walter replied to VolkerR.'s topic in Focke Wulf FW 190 STGB
Great work a wonderful example. BTW if anyone wants to get rid of an early Eduard 190 tooling let me know I'd be happy to built it again. -
I'm going to abandon this build its just too poor to warrant the time and I'm not enjoying it. I will replace it with a 1/32 Hasegawa A8 or Dragon 1/48 A8 just waiting on this kit to arrive before I decide.

This isn't a very enjoyable kit to build I can't make any promises that it will get finished. All raised details on this plane, so I sprayed a primer and will give a sand down all over just to tone the lumps and bumps down.

Hey Steve you have assembled the dipoles incorrectly they should be in parallel.

I agree if it allows more builds to be completed without heartache π

Words of wisdom Steve. It's something you want to leave to the very end π. I did the same used super glue.
