  1. Cor! Look at that!!! You can only really see it from that angle. It's not really apparent from other angles. Anyroads, it's not there now!
  2. Here's an extra one! Airfix 1/144 Trident 1C
  3. Apparently it's not. It's the 30th. But I've been working on today being the last day and I've been worried about not making the deadline. My apologies. I'm anaspeptic, phrasmotic, even compunctuous to have caused you such pericombobulation.
  4. The yellow leading edges masked off ready to be sprayed. Then some minor touchups and we are ready for the stickers!
  5. HS Trident 1c Kit: Airfix Decals: Two Six Decals On 10 June 1965, while operating Flight BE343 from Le Bourget to Heathrow, this aircraft made the first fully automated landing of a commercial airliner carrying paying passengers. The model depicts the aircraft as it appeared in May 1968 with a natural metal rear fuselage.
  6. Finished! And, as usual, on the very last day of the GB. Mind you, the carpet monster intervened at the very last moment. He took the starboard engine exhaust nozzle. So the photos are posed to avoid that area.
  7. I believe it's actually from the 50s! There have been replacement kits from Hasegawa and Italeri. From what I have read, the kit goes together well but is still very toylike. So I'd say it's a perfect candidate for the GB. Welcome aboard! Please do! Welcome aboard! I remember building that kit in the late 60s when it was an F-111A.
  8. Okay then! That's the Gannet out. To be honest, it wouldn't take much effort to make a nice model out of it. The others are far more of a challenge.
  9. I'm still trying to work out what I'm going to do for this one. I had it narrowed down to two. But then I thought a bit more and the count has gone up to four... Frog Fairey Gannet Airfix Beaufighter Airfix Meteor Mk III Airfix Skyraider Decisions, decisions!
  10. Okay... having reviewed my modelling workload for that period, I believe I can just about squeeze one in. I won't say what it will be yet, mostly because I haven't decided yet...
  11. Eduard 1/48 Tempest with MDC Tempest II conversion set Airfix 1/72 P-51D and another! Esci 1/72 F-104G and another and yet another! This is converted to a JQF-104A There should be one more by this weekend and another by the end of the year.
  12. Twelve for this year so far, which is more than I've completed in quite some time! Tamiya 1/48 FW-190A Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Vb Special Hobby 1/48 Spitfire Vc Kinetic 1/72 F-16I Sufa Airfix 1/144 VC-10 Hasegawa 1/48 Typhoon
  13. Ooh! That's worked out rather nicely. Good recovery!
  14. Thanks Mish. It's still taken me three months to build my Trident in 1/144th. But I suppose the shorter time could make me a little more disciplined.
  15. As you can see, my little foxes paw has been rectified.
  16. So... this chap has some moondust. And he lives in Scotland... Let's just hope he doesn't go and sprinkle it around the place in Edinburgh.
  17. As gruffy says, Tamiya NATO Black is a good choice. It is a very very dark green rather than black, so it already looks a bit worn. Lifecolor also do a selection of blacks: Weathered Black, Worn Black, Burned Black etc. Random areas or panels sprayed in these different colours will serve to make the model look even more weathered.
  18. Only two months for this GB? And starting on a Tuesday?
  19. Indeed. This is the second time that I have used Two Six Decals and I'm really rather impressed with them. Another thing with this sheet is that although it is intended to produce one model only, if you are a little bit creative with some painting then you could get two models out of it - a standard BEA aircraft and a Malta Airlines aircraft.
  20. Erm... wot's goin' on?!?!? I have some white lettering decals which would have replaced the ones on the model. So I set to with some hot water and a paintbrush, fully expecting the decals on the model to disintegrate as I removed them. Instead they simply floated off. In one piece!!! So now I've swapped them around. Panic over... That sort of thing is unheard of in my modelling experience! Now I'm expecting the Carpet Monster to return all the parts he has nicked over the years.
  21. No, it's not you. Guess what I've done... That's right. I've put the wing lettering on the fin and vice versa!
