  1. Or 11 of these... https://www.dapol.co.uk/products/a004-oo-gauge-unpainted-gwr-vent-van?variant=43341294764255
  2. Nodnodnod. He's right, yannow...
  3. I've always been at that age.
  4. Spare yourself the agonies of choice and build 'em all. You know you want to...
  5. The cockpit builds up nicely. I used the Eduard pre-coloured PE set for the instrument panel and other details in the cockpit. The tail gear bay is a little over-engineered (typical Modelsvit) with seven parts, but it looks good when everything is juggled into place.
  6. Some sprue shots. A nice PE sheet. The only part of it that I will be using are the nose vent things.
  7. The moment of truth! Will the repaired wing fit properly on to the fuselage? It fit better than I could have hoped. I had to do a bit of fettling but all was well. Then came the damaged part that I removed. As you can see, the port part is still really warped. I used a very high risk strategy to attempt to bend it back into a semblance of correct shape. I heated it over a candle flame, just like I would when stetching sprue. At this point it could have crashed and (quite literally) burned. But I got away with it... It still needs a lot of work.
  8. Moving on to the fuselage. There are lots of parts for the interior. As this is a Weekend Edition, the seat harness is a decal. Fuselage ready to be closed up. Like so.
  9. The first job is to wrk on the body shell. I removed all the seperately fitted parts: boiler handrails, buffers, safety valves, nameplates, whistle, glazing and cab interior. I then started work to remove the commemorative plaques and the shedplates which are moulded on. The chassis was not designed to fit on this bodyshell, so I widened the groove at the back to allow the tab to fit in it. At the front there is no structure to connect to the chassis so I provided one. It was easy. It's just a big chunk of Milliput.
  10. Accurascale have also taken on the Hattons locos (SECR P Class and Barclay shunters). It seems as though all the staff from Hattons have found jobs elsewhere within the hobby industry. I'm pleased.
  11. Just a reminder that the first Blitzbuild of the year will run from Saturday 4 May to Monday 6 May. What are you gonna build?
  12. Some more from the 50s NATO vs WP GB in 2019. Dragon/Cyber Hobby 1/72 Venom NF.3 Swift F2, converted from the Airfix kit using an Alley Cat conversion set. The Airfix Swift again, this time built OOB as an FR.5. Another 20 Sqn jet, this time a Hawker Hunter F.6 from the 1/48 Airfix kit.
  13. A couple of 20 Sqn RAF aircraft build for the 70s NATO vs WP GB back in 2017. Airfix 1/72 Harrier Gr.1. Italeri 1/72 Jaguar GR.1.
