Morning all, a bit more progress - I decided it was time I worked on the Hull - first step after giving it a soapy wash down and dry, was to get my airbrush out and put down a couple of thin layers of Vallejo Black Dirface Primer, this went on quite well, I then put it aside and left well alone for about Three days. It was earlier that I decided I could mask up the Boot Line as the primer had been given enough time - so I cut Two corresponding strips about 1.8mm wide to represent the Eight feet wide boot, this was then smoothed into position with some careful alignment both sides - its ready to start pying down AP507 above the boot - then masked for the bottom Dark Grey. Erk.

Good day all, a wee bit more progress making and fitting a couple more boats - Erk.

Makes me question adding the PE railings in kits at 1/350 or 1/700 scale as I dont think from viewing range they would be seen - and they are over scale anyway. Erk.

Hi all, so I have painted the quad mounts and stands on the rear boat deck, and also painted the wood details in the boats/floats, I then started some shading using my dirty Brown wash - portholes/vents etc. Erk.

Evening all, so after airbrushing my sub assemblies - next to be done was to paint the lower conning tower deck corticene, this was done with a fine brush, then put a side to dry - then I started assembling everything togtether before gluing all to the deck. Needs some touch ups. Erk.

Thank you kindly, Its a beautiful kit so well built however some areas like the conning tower sections are fiddly to get ligned up, and as you say the PE is paper thin and hard to handle, but over all its an amazing kit, so worth getting the delux kit and the optional wood decking. Erk.

Thought I should give my experience - I ordered one to go with my Flyhawk 1/700 HMS Hood, after looking at the wood sheets (and having used Pontos in 1/350 scale before) I decided it would be best to try to keep the sheet/s as strong as possible as they are so thin, so after cutting all the holes for the various obstructions I then used my Gorrilla Wood Glue - slightly watered down - this was then painted all over the bottom of the sheet and placed down. Thinking was - not only a wee bit more strength to the wood sheet - but also a bit of wiggle time to place it correctly. I understand Gorrilla Wood Glue is great for fixing down anything from Clear plastics - wood - and even PE, so thats what I did and its still stuck now several weeks later - famous last words. Erk.

Evening all, hope everyones holidays went well - a bit of an update, I fitted a few bits to the rear section of the boat deck, some of these are Resin pieces, they where glued down then painted with one of my fine brushes. Erk.
