  1. Its a Great project love the Wessex think it has so much style, I have been lucky enough as a Teenager to sit inside the cabin with a school work experience trip and have one of the staff talking to us about the wessex, it was a RN SAR HU.5 version, can't remember much though remember the fold down seats with the similar backs to the Chinook. Erk.
  2. Thank you both, I will return to it when I find my mojo. Erk.
  3. Evening all, I have re-started this - I decided to re spray it using my airbrush, I last attempted to rattle can spray it, but that was akward due to not being able to hold it outside, this time I set it up on my round spray table in my home made spray booth (cardboard box) so I mixed up several cups of Nato Green and went ahead. I think its turned out ok after several passes in between drying. Erk.
  4. Folks I have decided to put this build on hold as It was not going as I would like. Erk.
  5. Thanks John, I was wondering that - I have semi polished it - well buffed it with a rag. Erk.
  6. Evening all, after a few attempts at airbrushing my Vallejo Surface primer - I think I have reached a reasonable result, I learned a few things about airbrushing - needing to keep is surgically clean and making sure the primer is not too thick (this is where my airflow improver came in handy) Just a tiny area that still needs attention (picked out due to the primer) but all in all quite pleased. Erk.
  7. Any more progress on this excellent build? Erk.
  8. A bit more progress - I have reached the stage to start priming (this is the First aircraft model I will have used an airbrush on) anyway I dont think it was cleaned out enough despite me running water and airbrush cleaner through it after using it the last time - hence what happened spraying my Vallejo Acrylic Surface Primer - its went down un even and splattered some what - good job its the primer and can be wet sanded. I had to give my airbrush a Full Deep Clean and found some dry paint bits in the front nozzle. seem to have spent more time cleaning the airbrush than using it. Erk.
  9. Thank you kindly, it should sit quite nicely with my Shar 1 when finished. Erk.
  10. Most welcome, its actually a very nice kit to build - very accurate mouldings and next to no flash. Erk.
  11. Evening all, more progress with "Hawky hawk type thingy" I fitted the stabs, then the flaps were fitted along with the actuation devices, then set aside to set. Erk.
  12. Thank you All for the nice comments. Erk.
  13. An enjoyable build including a figure. Erk. Erk.
  14. Right them folks - I am calling this Finished. I will put the pics up in the Finished section. Thank you kindly for all the comments and interest. Erk.
  15. Superb work of an amazing "If - only" plane thankfully we have the Two versions in museums. Erk.
  16. Evening all, I have got quite a bit of progress done - I painted/weathered the main wheel wells, then assembled the wing sections, this was then glued to the fuselage, its quite a good fit and just needed the smallest amount of putty where the wing root meets the fuselage, there will be a bit of blending in to do with fine wet and dry. Erk.
  17. Most welcome, thank you for the nice words. Erk.
  18. Bit of an update - intakes made and blended then the underside main wheel well detail panel is glued. Erk.
