I had also started on the main hull camo colurs of AP507B and AP507C mid and light grey, I masked off the lines of the camo and brush painted the paint on using Lifecolour excellent Acrylic set, then when dry after a couple of days I masked and added the bootline - just the normal 8 foot wide line (like most had at the time) This was then put a side to dry. Hi all, I built this wondeful kit a few years back - It took me over a year to complete her, I thought it might be good to do a build log using my pics I took during the build, I will expalin what I encountered during the build - and hope it will be of interest. So on with the build - I picked up the kit but also ordered the Ponto upgrade set including PE sheets,Brass Barrels some AA tubs and the wood deck, after joing both halves of the main hull together, I decided to have a go at simulating Warspites armour belts - this I decided to do uisng strips of paper that was glued on uisng White Glue. When the glue had set with the belts finished I gave the Hull a few coats of primer (all paintwork was done at that stage by brush as I did not have an airbrush at the time). I decided to get a rattle can that was as close as I could get to RN Anti Fouling Red and took the model outside and gave it a couple of coats. These pics show the Red bottom and screws fitted and some of the other hull paint started. Erk.

Evening all, so more progress - I fteed the rest of the inner upper roof framing, then Two side pieces were added - very fiddly with very little areas to fix them to - I then glued the assembly down to the deck. Erk. -
Amazing and Superb work beyond beautiful. Erk.

Evening all, more progress - Firstly I drilled a few portholes with the tinyiest of drill bits, then I started on the main deck area, this has the most intricate plastic framework that needs gluing to the underside roof, firstly I had to cut the ends to to the right size/length. Still more framework to fit - also one of the pics shows the lovely intricate detail moulded onto the main deck - superb detail for 1/700 scale. Erk. -

Thank you kindly, yep that was my idea with the screws - leaving them off till when the hull is finished, I just hope I do the kit justice as it a Superb kit and according to the HMS Hood association - its the best kit of her in 1/700 scale. Erk. -

Hi all, I got this kit a few months back but had other builds to work on first, but I decided to make a start on her even if I don't fully finish her yet. Upon opening the box I was greeted with many items to enhance the kit - frets of PE - Brass Barrels and many other metal parts, I also purchased the Wood deck pieces. So I made a start but building the hull - this is your basic Two part assembly and it went together very nicely - just the slightest amount of light sanding along the join line. So this is where I am at present - Erk.

What I could do Is turn her into an ex BDRT bird thats no longer needed and just dumped in the corner of the hanger awaiting its diposal - going all dusty and un loved - with the blades romoved but the rotor heads left on. Erk.

Folks Gremlin time - I was spraying some Ammo Lucky Acrylic flat over the top in several misting coats (was awkward as wearing a mask and glasses + steaming up) meant I could not see what I was doing - so the end result some rough areas like sand paper. I decided to rub this down when dry with a simple wet rag but it removed too much flat coat and made the decals shiny again - so I gave in and just thought to leave it alone. I then started to remove the masks - but low and behold there was dust on the inside as well. So I have given up obviously not meant to be. Erk.

Thank youkindly Colin. Erk.

Evening all, where was we - ah yes - I have made up painted and fitted the Six wheels, then before fitting some delicate fittings I decided to fit the decals - yes I know I should have payed down a gloss coat first - but to be honest I do not have one and did not want to delay the build, so I carried on, most went down well with my Micro Set and Sol, the rear sections took a bit of work and looked a bit rough at first - but Micro Sol did its trick. The idea is to airbrush a few costs of Ammo Acrylic supper flat top coat that should dull down the decs and kill the shine (fingers and toes crossed) So here's the pics so far. Erk.

Evening all, so more work on my "Wokka" firstly I built up and painted the Two engine exhausts and fitted them in place, then I removed the masking from the tail gat area and painted the rear wheel areas and around the rear framing, then I gave the area a bit of a dirty wash. Erk.
