Supermarine S.5 (N 220) AMP - 1/48
Lightpainter replied to Andrew.S's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I bought this kit too... I am not surprised that there are issues, I have only barely recovered from building their Piaggio-Pegna Pc.7. Many issues and 1/50 scale instead of 1/48 scale. So I will follow this with intrest!- 39 replies

Bonjour Sebastien, You can find the price on their website, since the preorder period is closed it retails now for $160.00 and then you need to add postage. Just contact them if you need to ask something they are quick to answer.

I actually contacted them on Saturday asking if they would still deliver since I had read that restrictions were in place in Turkey. They answerred that there was no problem and that they would bring my kit to the post office today.. and we know what happened... I got this mail today... Hi, Turkish Airlines, also the carrier of Turkish postal service PTT, has announced yesterday that all international flights have been cancelled. The packages of kits that we took to the post office this morning have not been received by the officials and returned, due to flight cancellations. We are terribly frustrated by having to announce that the shipments of the second batch planned this week have to be halted. We know you are looking forward to receiving your kits and we are equally upset not being able to send them after having spent so much effort and time to produce, but have no choice to respect and obey all the measures taken officially to fight the epidemic. Things are beyond our control, these are hard times and precautions must be taken to avoid even harder ones. We will continuously check with the postal service and resume the shipments as soon as things start turning to normal, which may take a few weeks. We already have checked the possibility of shipping with UPS, FedEx and DHL. Their fees are high, even higher than the price of the kit itself for some countries, so we do not take this as a viable option. However, please let us know if you are interested in this option and wish to incur the extra cost. We hope everyone is unharmed and wish you healthy times. Thank you, JETMADS Team

New mail today: Van: JETMADS <contact@jetmads.com> Datum: vrijdag 28 februari 2020 om 14:47 Aan: 'JETMADS' <contact@jetmads.com> Onderwerp: Shipments Starting on 16 March Hi, Shipments of the Skystreak kits will start on 16 March. Transparent parts for canopies are the only ones in production right now, so we do not expect a need for further extra time. We are currently having difficulties in accessing our social media accounts including Facebook due to general restrictions applied by the government after yesterday’s political and military conflicts in Syria. We are about 1.000km away from the conflicts which are taking place out of our borders and by no means effected in any way other than social media access problems, because of which you are kindly requested to use emails for any questions and queries you may have. On the other hand, we are working on arrangements regarding our future releases that will enable us to ship pre-orders immediately after the pre-order period ends, no matter how high the number of pre-orders may be. Thank you, JETMADS Team

Macchi M.39 Schneider Cup
Lightpainter replied to fjaweijfopi4j48's topic in Work in Progress - Aircraft
I will follow this with interest, much of what you have written was new to me. I am so interested because I have the 1/24 scale Profile24 Macchi M39 but have not started it yet because I could not find enough reliable information. Next time you visit the British family visit Duxford or one of the other fantastic aviation museums When I go to Scale Modelworld in Telford (I live in Belgium)we always reserve a day to visit Duxford and I was able to take two rides in their De Havilland Rapides. And that is pure fun!- 47 replies

A long time but it was definitely worth it! great job! -
Very nice work on this SBS kit! I like it a lot! I had it in my hands some time ago but it was simply too small for my bad eyesight.. that said I am building their DH-88 but I had that one in the stash many years. SBS and MikroMir are both preparing moulds for the M.C. 72 in 1/48 scale. SBS in resin and MikroMir in plastic of course. It remains to be seen if SBS will continue know that it is clear that MikroMir are working on it too... I had not such a great experience with the MikroMir PC.7... wrong scale and all... I do have their DH-88 Comet in 1/48 scale but have not yet amassed the courage to start it

You are doing a great job here and you have lots more patience and modelling knowledge than I have! And to think that I was contemplating buying this kit last year...

AMP (MikroMir) Piaggio-Pegna Pc.7 1/50 scale
Lightpainter replied to Lightpainter's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thank you for your kind words! I felt a racing plane needed a classic presentation so I chose black, it contrasts nice with the red paint of the aircraft -
