  1. Saw this too just now and will have one, but when ... oh ... when, will Airfix release a new tool 1/48 Lysander? Thats what we want, what we really really want
  2. Sorry, but NO Chris, that rumour is totally Bogus, love him or hate him, James Cameron does not lend his hand to making his past masterpieces look bad, he's going to do the best he can with the transfers to HD or 4K and make them the best he can do ... he's a perfectionist and will produce these much awaited epics to the best of his ability. The Abyss ia going to take a wee bit longer, he's busy with Avatar stuff just now of course ... but so glad Aliens is the first remastered, 4K release from him. As an aside, ... a bit of an Alien movie franchise fan here, visited the old Alien war Franchise back in the day at a few venues, it was awesome.
  3. Aliens 4K is due early April 2024, next year, The Abyss in UHD will be fun too, will have them both by end of next year, for sure. True Lies has its fans too, but not its my thing? or sure when? But Aliens 4K for me is a cert ...
  4. I honestly do. I have invested in 4K here as well as proper 5.1 sound too and I would never consider an under telly soundbar a proper solution to visiting my local Cinema. 65" screen here and still thinking about Projecting, need properly well positioned surround speakers, but would never consider a sound bar and I have tested a few I know 7.1 is there too, but I also like to play certain SACD albums, through my system and it's just stunning defaulting to 5.1, having finely tuned it this way. I honestly enjoy a local Cinema visit when I can too, for better or worse.
  5. Shrugs ... I bought the 1/48 Gannet and Seaking, couple of weeks a go, now I see complaints, hard to imagine the kits are flawed now, whats up with the kits guys ? Please
  6. And Lo and Behold, and by pure coincidence ?? Microsoft/Asobo with a brand new fresh update for regions was stalling AGAIN with my normal UK connection, switched to Nord and update is flying down the wires now logged into Seattle servers this time. I think I';ll keep my Nord VPN for occasions such as this ... and the future FS2024 too, Thanks Ian
  7. I reckon, this is some poor guy's stash who has recently passed away, that should not stop anyone bidding though, am sure the widow or family would want it this way, so please bid accordingly folks. Put in a bid myself just now ... privately and with respect
  8. After many fruitless hours trying to install Microsoft FS2020 (again) fast and finding it stalled after an overnight session ... Grrr I went a looking on help forums and many suggested use a VPN. So I went a researching and soon found NordVPN are one of the most popular. They used to offer a free trial, not any more it seems, what they do offer now is guaranteed 30 day cash back if not satisfied ... it cost me about £77 for 2 years I paid a few hours ago ... and that money would have gone a long way towards the New Tamiya 1/48 F-35 B. But ... Lo and behold, it worked, resumed my FS2020 new installation on new machine and can get my ISP's full maximum speed download by pretending I'm from North America, rather from North Scotland where I actually live and terrible speed !! I don't know why, Microsoft/Asobo who distribute MS FS2020 sim limit server capacity to UK and other places ? but it can get so slow and sometimes stall ... yep I know some in UK can install fine without issues in UK, but currently, and at time of writing, Microsofts servers to UK are crawling at a snails pace. Doing the major world updates now, tried on and off NordVPN, its deffo much much faster with Nord and choosing somewhere else than, my native UK to download from. But once my big downloads are done ... I'm going to be wondering why I spent £77 for a VPN to do this, when MS/Asobo are clearly discriminating on traffic servers in UK? I could and should hold them to the 30 day guarantee, I suppose, but feel a little guilty asking for my money back when I tried their product and found it worked within their own terms and conditions, but honestly have no more use for a VPN after this. What would you do in my situation? Cheers.
  9. Interesting, tempted to put in a bid or two myself !
  10. Yes Chris, mostly agree, but a 4hr more fleshed out version of Napoleon might make better sense, it's not his finest hour ... so far, but far from his worst, either, some of the battle scenes are stunning and lots of other little moments too, that are probably ... must be CGI, like the warships coming home and docking ... I was just like ... Wow, stunning atmosphere there, Ridley. I think the film was rushed ... I really don't mind a future 4 hr version, as Ridley has heavily hinted at, that might go some to making this film the epic it really should be. I'm still glad I went to see it though as a Cinema enthusiast ... because I can see my small town's one closing before long.
  11. I shall post up pics and a vid or two here on BM, not long after the show 👍
  12. Bought Geddy Lee's newish book ... My Effin Life ... last week and got two chapters in so far, fascinating stuff, great read so far, when Lo and Behold I noticed he's doing a sort of Evening with Geddy this Thursday at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, he's reading chapters from the book and giving away a copies of the book to all attenddee's, probably paperback? I bought the hard back as a keeper, also folks will be invited to ask him questions, awesome. I did something similar with Bruce Dickenson from Iron Maiden in Edinburgh just after Covid recovery, and it was great fun ... Furthermore, I was lucky enough to be to get the chance and ask him a question and that was about his real Fokker Dr.1 he flies, hope I get lucky again with a question still to be thought up for Geddy, from Rush as I'm sure you all know Fun, fun fun.
  13. Perhaps Airfix will finally encompass 1/32 for an Aircraft scale and beat Tamiya and the rest of them at their own game? Now there's a wish, heh, do prefer 1/48 Mostly for Aircraft (esp WW2 Warbirds), but do stretch to 1/32 sometimes and 1/24 can be a bridge too far for many of us with space storage considerations and remain in stash or get sold ... certainly true of me 👍 PS: not saying Airfix should drop 1/24 scale Aircraft kits completely. Its par to the factories well known trademarks, but most large scale modellers do appreciate the middle ground of 1/24 and 1/48 and Airfix would do well to tap into this market with their own re-born expertise, especially in British Aircraft subjects IMHO. Just sayin
  14. I'd buy that and lots of Red paint too
  15. I don't care who does a 1/48 Beaver, so long as it gets done.
  16. What about an Airfix 1/48 De Havilland Beaver? ... Didn't Airfix use to make one in 1/72? Pretty sure I made one as a Lad? Popular Aircraft for someone like me that does Flight Sim and Scale Modelling too, so many options, civilian and military, floats and wheels ... I'd buy this for sure 👍
  17. I can't imagine what -17c must be like? it's 7:30 AM here in N Scotland and current temp is -5C, a smattering of snow and the roads are glistening with ice before the gritters do their job ... so glad I don't have to go out today, heating on full blast, will worry about the bill later Keep warm, everyone, and please look out for your elderly neighbours.
  18. RIP, love his work with Paul n Wings
  19. Seen it now, enjoyed it, well worth the watch 👍
  20. Wow, never known such a cold spell up here for a very ,,, very long time, hit -8c here last night near RAF Lossiemouth and at time of writing is still -5c and I'm close to the coast, hate to think what Braemar hit inland? No Snow yet here, but it has hit other parts of UK bad, stay safe everyone and please don't scrimp on the heating bills. Take care all and stay warm.
  21. My early Xmas pressies to myself from Jadlam arrived a few days ago, hoping to squeeze in Tamiya's new 1/48 F-35 B if I can as well before the 25th, happy festive modelling everyone.
  22. I would love to see Airfix do a 1/48 Lysander, We know they listen, and it is a popular request ... I'd buy one in a heartbeat. It simply MUST be on the cards soon, fingers crossed.
  23. Welcome back 2Step 🤙
