Hi, some other great Harrier models from the Harrier SIG's members. C'mon, go on and share with us your incredible Harrier models!!! CIAO! Piero

Hello, here we have some from the great Harrier SIG's collection of Sea Harrier and Harrier models. The pictures were sent me from the "boss" Nick Greenall... thanks Nick! Enjoy! The Harrier SIG website is at the following link: http://harrier.hyperlinx.cz CIAO! Piero

... I must inform Nick to "update" the FAQ HARSIG website. The GR.7 in the middle of formation. And then you can see also the ZG480/70 fitted with the same mix configuration of 65% LERXs and "frogeye" airscoop. http://www.paulnann.com/Make.asp?Make=Hawk...ef=pn_w0791.jpg I'll scan the other picture of ZG479/69 during "Deliberate Force" from an italian airforce magazine when I'll be back home. ... sorry Bill, but the ZG479/69 was born with "small" 65% LERX's. I think the 100% LERX's were retrofitted just before the "Allied Force" operations over Kosovo. I have a couple of picture of the ZG479/69, one was took in Gioa del Colle during 1995-1996 for the operation over Bosnia. The ZG479/69 spot full IV(AC) sqn markings with two-tone camouflage grey and is fitted with small LERX's plus the frog-eye style airscoops over the engine access panels. In another picture from a backissue of Aircraft Illustrated magazine (1997), the ZG479/69 is in a flight formation of 3 GR.7s. Again it was still fitted with 65% LERX's. CIAO! Piero

Ops! Sorry Bill and Arkady, I forgot that thread!!! Anyway, as I said a very nice RAF Harrier model... and almost all the "notes" are due the faults of Hasegawa's master engineers... CIAO! Piero

BRAVI!!! Very nice Harrier models... hope to see more in the next days. Actually I'm working on the BIG Airfix Harrier GR.3 in 24th. There is alot of work to do but I hope to complete the job for early next November. My intention is to finish it as an RAF 1° Sqn machine in standard marking during mid '80s. Unfortunaly all the decals are printed out of register, especially the white and red colours... so all the stencils are unuseable. So, if you have to sell some spare of this decal sheet... please send me a P.M. CIAO! Piero

Hello, last evening I checked the Airdoc British RAFG Harriers - GR1/3, T-2/4 - Part 1 volume. There are some really interesting and clear colour pictures of Harriers in "artic white camouflage": A GR.3 "red 16" from the 1(F) Sqn in Dark Sea Grey/White over Light Aircraft Grey. A GR.3 from the 3(F) sqn with Dark Sea Grey/Dark Green wrap-around camouflage, with the white paint covering all the Dark Sea Grey areas. A GR.3 from the 4(AC) sqn with Dark Sea Grey/Dark Green wrap-around camouflage, with the white paint covering all the Dark Green areas. Then there is also a T.4 from the 4(AC) sqn with the white paint over the Dark Green area only on the upper surfaces... very strange and interestingly... it's a pity that we don't have a good conversion set in 1/49th scale for the two-seater... All the stencils and markings are visible on the planes, I don't think it was needed to mask them because the white paint was hand brushed... absolutely not in homogenous way! CIAO! Piero

Hello guys, 2009 marks the 40th Anniversary of the Harrier!!! And to celebrate the anniversary of my favourite airplane, I started this topic where I would like to invite you to post the pictures of your Harrier models. Here is my personal collection, all in 1/48th scale. CIAO! Piero

Hello, First of all very nice Harrier GR.7!!! The Hasegawa's Harrier II family are not easy kits to build and they don't provides all the parts you need to finish it correctly. Please, do'nt be afraid, I would just give some suggestion for the next time or for other brillant modellers here: The Harrier GR.7 "ZG479/69" was fitted with big 100% LERX during the Operation Telic in 2003. The Hasegawa kit contains only the small 65% LERX. The "kinked wing" is too much pronuncied. Should be fixed a little bit. Also the ejection seat rail is only to used with the Stencel american bang seat, not with the british Mk.5/7/9s. I built one of this some years ago, here it is: I hope those brief notes can help everybody want to build an Hasegawa's Harrier Gr.7s. CIAO! Piero

Hello, I started this long wished project. The kit is old, with almost basic details compared to the scale. I'm trying to add details using a Flightpath etched detail set and some others from scratch. The cockpit is ready to be fitted inside the fuselage... ... as for the front undercarriage bay. The main parts of the Pegasus engine are assembled too, but this will not be detailed because I'm going to close all the access panels, as for the center undercarriage bay CIAO! Piero

Thanks you guys for all your compliments on my model. CIAO! Piero

Hello guys, just finished my second "what if" model based on the Airfix's TSR.2 kit. After the RAF Eagle GR.4A, I decide to build an electronic warfare/SEAD version of an hypotetical operational TSR.2. Enjoy the pics and let me know what do you think! CIAO! Piero

Hello guys, just a brief "update" about the Italian Air Force (AMI) TSR.2, beautiful made by my great friend Roberto. The long and slick aiframe of the TSR.2 is really evidente here, compared to the F-16 in the same scale. I hope to come back soon with some news for my Eagle GR.4A. CIAO! Piero

Hello my friends, a quick update, I'm too busy with my work. Painting & decal steps are almost finished. My "TSR.2 What if" is titled RAF Eagle GR.4A "DN- Deadly Nightshades" Operation Telic 2003. CIAO! Piero P.S.: Great win today in F1 for Jenson Button and the BrawnGP!!!

Hi guys, here some pictures with last works done. Basically the main camouflage is on. Ok, my RAF Eagle GR.4A has a "Flashman" two-tone paint scheme of Desert Pink over Barley Grey. RAM areas has been painted as well as fuel tanks and Litening laser pod. Next will be the radome and wingtip's pods and ordnances. Now lets talks the images. I hope you like my choice. CIAO! Piero

Hello my friends, many thanks to all of you for your compliments and the precious tips on many areas of the model. At today I didn't took any new pictures of my "Eagle", but I'll do tonight. In the mean time I would like to share with you this other great looking "what if" project, again based in the TSR.2. The model master is my friend Roberto "Robyjet" Nardi. The TSR.2 will be finished as a naval-striker, in charge with the Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare Italiana - AMI). Camouflage colour pattern is the old-fashion Dark Sea Grey/Dark Green on PRU Blue. Some "in progress" pics follows. See you soon! CIAO! Piero

Armee de l'Air Mirage F1CT "Operation Trident"
Piero replied to Piero's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thanks guys!!! The model is for me... but last week a magazine ask me for some pictures for an article. CIAO! Piero -
Hi, the MFDs came from Eduard's pre-painted set for the F/A-18D. Yes, you're right... the TRS.2 had the vertical tail "all-moving"... and the RWR/ECM fairings could interfere with the handling. But, "maybe", some other control suface/system will help. CIAO! Piero

Hello, just started a week ago, the RAF Eagle GR.4A. Obviously is a "what if" project. First the cockpit, fitting instruments & MFDs to update it at the standard of our days. Some details on the sidewalls... especially a pair of AC cooler... too hot inside that cramped and dark cockpit!!! Updating also the avionics and mission systems, with a new nose to accomodate a new lightweight multimode-pulse Doppler radar. On the vertical fin a RWR receiver plus an ECM system. Than starting some painting, with some Dark Sea Grey acting as base. More to came next days. CIAO! Piero
