  1. Hi thanks for the comment much appreciated 👍. Tbh I can't remember what kit level it was as I've built many model kits since this one but I do remember it being a very enjoyable build 🙂👍
  2. Hi Mike I haven't worked on the Whirlwind build since my last update due to work and family commitments. I will be returning to the build when I get the chance but that's likely to be a while yet. As for the undercarriage well I haven't reached that stage yet so I can't really comment but I'm sure you'll sort it out just fine. Good luck with the rest of your build 🙂👍
  3. Amazing what a difference a coat of paint makes 👍. Nice work again Roger keep it coming mate 🙂👍
  4. Hiya Dennis tbf it's only these particular decals I don't like but I may have to explore other options in the future 🙂👍
  5. Thanks Roger I'm glad the decals are finished with and now I can move forward with the fun parts 🙂👍
  6. Cheers Keith thing is you can't remove a carrier film that you can't see so best left alone methinks 🙂👍
  7. Handsome beast indeed Chris and now the decals are sorted I can relax and enjoy the rest of the build 🙂👍
  8. So today's session was cut short unexpectedly when the neighbour across the street decided to reverse into Mrs Js car which was parked up and stationery at the time 😳. As you can imagine Mrs J was not impressed so after many emails and phone calls I finally managed to finish off the decals on the Whirlwind. The carrier film over the decals had pretty much disappeared overnight so I've taken the sensible route and left them well alone. Tbh I think they look fine and so now I've completed the underside decals I can move onto highlighting and weathering the entire airframe. The underside does show signs of overspray in certain areas but I'll take care of that at a later date. Here's a few pic's of today's progress So all in all I'm quite happy with how she looks atm and look forward to continuing the build when I get the chance. Thanks for looking back soon 🙂👍
  9. Hiya Mike I'm using the kit decals but unfortunately for me mine aren't printed by cartograf Not sure why mine are different but they are so I will just have to tread carefully during application 🙂👍
  10. Rushing simply isn't an option atm mate but I hope to keep making steady progress. I'm assuming you're off on holiday Dennis if so have a great time 🙂👍
  11. Thanks Dennis taking a little longer than I anticipated but I'm getting there 🙂👍
  12. Hiya Keith we are all fine thanks mate just very busy at work atm plus I'm on the hunt for a new car.....again 🙄👍
  13. Thanks Chris I'm getting there albeit rather slowly 🙂👍
  14. Hiya Stew you make a good point mate so I'll take a look tomorrow and then make a decision 🙂👍
  15. Still not getting much bench time atm however today I've made some progress regarding the decals and the topside of the Whirlwind has been completed. I'm not a fan of the Eduard decals but they are in place and tomorrow I can hopefully remove the decal film and be left with acceptable markings.....fingers crossed on that one 🤞. Here's a few pic's of today's progress Amazing the difference a few decals can make but I think the Whirlwind looks rather splendid and I'm pleased with the overall results so far. Thanks for looking back soon 🙂👍
  16. Thanks Keith it's taken a while to come together but I'm certain it will be worth it in the end 🙂👍 Thanks Alistair time to make it look real 😉👍
  17. Cheers Mike and rest assured when time permits I will be cracking on with the build 👍
  18. The shine is temporary Chris more for the decals than anything else 😉👍
  19. Thanks Dennis and your right the next few steps should be very enjoyable indeed 😉👍
  20. So I've finally managed to give the Whirlwind it's gloss coat and it's now ready for some highlighting, decals and weathering. I need to allow the gloss coat to dry overnight and then hopefully I can crack on tomorrow. Not a massive update but the next steps in the build should progress quite quickly once the gloss has cured. Thanks for looking back soon 🙂👍
  21. Thanks Alistair the only problem I'm having now is finding the time to work on the Whirlwind but such is life i suppose 🙂👍
  22. Yes indeed it was.....I new that....🙄😆👍 Cheers Keith the Whirlwind is finally coming together 🙂👍
  23. Thanks Dennis it's a little bit to clean cut atm but that will change soon 😉👍
