Hi Alistair I've just read through your build thread and I have to say...wow....what an absolutely stunning build this is...I simply adore how this aircraft looks...the combination of camo scheme plus the invasion stripes is spectacular....jeez I'll have to build this subject in the future πππ

I am not surprised she has confiscated it.Β Brilliant I do like that,Β you could draw in a few fake cracks, but don't overdo it, subtly is the key here!!!
Subtle is my middle name Chris π. Mrs J says that there's never a dull moment in our house and I think that's a compliment π€π

Needless to say Mrs J has now confiscated the tin but once I've done the weathering and panel wash I reckon it will look awesome π€£π€£π€£π

πThanks Andy, very kind of you to cheer me up fella,Β now when are you getting back onto that delicious WhirlwindΒ
Hope you are well
Chris
I'm doing ok thanks Chris still busy with the DIY but the list of things to do is getting smaller by the day π. The Whirlwind is sitting patiently in the hanger and I will definitely be finishing it off as soon as I make a return to the bench π. I've been using my aircraft builds as a source of inspiration for my DIY projects as can be seen in the pic below.....yes that is indeed the same colour as the tail band on my Spitfire....good old Sky ππ

Where did you find them for that price Andy, I paid a tenner a tubeΒ + postage from Hiroboy.

Keith
Hiya Keith found them on ebay mate just search Tamiya polishing compound and up they pop. UK seller expected 13th-15th June from Manchester ππ

Excellent build and a great job on the paint there. You should do more shiny cars...
Β
Tamiya polish is good, but not cheap, especially the finish. For those of you where budget is a bit of a consideration (judging by the rate of stash accumulation this definitely does not include @Andy J ), you could also look at Novus polishes (particularly the 1 & 2) which cost a similar amount but come with much more in a bottle.
Β
Β
While I haven't seen another manufacturer do it, Revell have done the same in the Trabant which seems to work pretty well.
In fairness i don't think Β£22 for all three compounds inc delivery is to harsh π€

That's a superb beetle Jeroen well done with the black paint as it's not the easiest colour to spray well.I have never polished any of my builds but I may have to invest in some of these Tamiya compounds they look like a decent product ππ

Having realised I have enough 4 wheeled kits in the stash for the time being I've decided to expand my stash of 2 wheeled kits slightly π

I have built a couple of bike kits but it's been a while ago and having taken inspiration from some recent excellent builds on the forum I fancy a crack at a bike build or ten ππ

Afternoon all,
Β
AnotherΒ paint related question for you gents out there having experience with Gravity Colors.
Β
So, Iβm going to order some paint from Gravity Colors in Spain and was wondering if it would need thinning before airbrushing and if so which thinner to use?
IΒ have Mr. Color Levelling Thinner 400 to be used for the Mr. Finishing Surface primer and the GX100 Super Clear, but would that be suitable for the Gravity Paints as well?Β
Also, with what do I best clean the airbrush after using Gravity paints? WouldΒ Mr. Tool Cleaner R 400 work you think?ΒΒ
Cheers in advance!Β
Β
Β
First off no need to thin the gravity paints they come already thinned for airbrush use just a good shake or stir required. For cleaning out the airbrush I simply use cellulose thinners which is simple and effective but remember these items stink so I would recommend a mask a spray booth with extractor and plenty of ventilation ππ

Perhaps with a steady flow of new kits coming to your house there is a bigger chance they go undetected. I should try that...
Β
I really want that 944, do you know if all parts are included to build a road version?
Well you get the interior for the road going version but I'll be using the racing seat and roll cage for my build ππ
