    You might be able to use the chassis, axles and bonnet/scuttle. The radiator is not correct for a civilian K series Austin, and the wheels would be military.

    The radiator could be ok for certain vehicles. My Austin K4 was produced just post war and still had the military style radiator grille. It also had the pressing on the cab roof for the gun ring. I think a fair few items on the truck were off the shelf surplus. It was used as a pole wagon for the GPO. It did have the standard road wheels though.

    @bootneck The clear sprue in the kit does hint at further variants as it contains parts for a closed cab option.

    Oh man! I just love this album, & the whole album's in the link! So I would have been 10 when this came out & to be honest it was the perfect soundtrack to my idylic childhood. It was only later on that I started to notice the other music that Tony was involved in. Glad that Steve Wright still plays Living By Numbers, sometimes hear This World Of Water. There's a pretty good New Muzik group on facebook & a couple of band members chip in from time to time. Don't know what happened to Mansfield, been very quiet over the years despite a cult following.

    Magic! Another New Musik fan! We're pretty close then. I was 11 in 1980, and it was 79 and 80 that I became obsessed with music. And what a great time to get into music too. I tried to watch anything that showcased current artists such as Top of the Pops (of course), Kenny Everett's Video Show, Cheggers, Old Grey Whistle Test and any appearances on shows like Tiswas, Swap Shop and even Crackerjack (remember Gary Numan on that show). So much good stuff to take in.

    I loved the singles Straight Lines, Living by Numbers (naturally) and World of Water, but I didn't manage to pick up a copy of "From A to B" until a few years later. It was worth the wait though as for me, it was one of those rare perfect albums. I still love it to this day. I also treated myself to a new vinyl copy of "Anywhere" the other day. Another great New Musik album, although "A to B" will always be my favourite. I also love Captain Sensible's debut album "Women and Captains First" as it was produced, co written and featured Tony Mansfield throughout, so it naturally has a very New Musik vibe.

    Thanks for the heads up on the New Musik FB group. I'll check that out. I understand Tony has been very reclusive for years now. I couldn't even manage to find barely any contemporary interviews with him.

  3. Reduced to £120 with free UK shipping to clear.

    Revell model # 04728 1/32 Scale Junkers Ju 88A-1 "Battle of Britain". For sale here is surely everything needed to build the ultimate 1/32 Junkers Ju 88A-1 from the Battle of Britain period. The kit is unstarted and the sprues are still sealed in the poly bags, along with the instructions and decals. I know the 1/32 Ju 88 hasn't been available for years now and I don't think the Big Ed set is currently available either. Looking for £120 for the lot. Price includes postage to any UK destination. Overseas maybe be pricey due to the size of the box, but do pm me for a quote.

    This bundle includes all of the following;

    Everything is provided here to build a show stopping Junkers Ju 88A-1 in 1/32 scale. This is a reluctant sale as I don't have the room to display if I were to build it, so it's time it all went to a new good home. The photos below are everything included in the bundle;

    I think that the new Arma kits are too expensive. Twenty quid for a single engined WW2 fighter? Jog on!

    But! But! Photo etch! (hate it) Canopy masks! (fair enough, *if* they’re Kabuki tape. Vinyl is worse than useless and I resent paying for it and I’m still paying for the PE I won’t use.) We’re always made to wait for the junior editions and they always seem harder to find. Ant it would still cost me over twenty quid to get it to my door, even with the best discounts. Nah, I’m out.

    I get all that. One of the reasons I didn't pick up the Arma P-15B despite initially being excited about the release. The price killed it for me. I opted for the Academy kit instead and got four of them for the same money as one Arma kit. Not fussed about photo etch either, and I totally agree on the canopy masks. I can't get on with vinyl. Has to be Kabuki for me. In the end, I loved the Academy P-51B. Just picked up some Peewit canopy masks and a Yahu instrument panel and I was happy. Having said that, I did finish my first Arma kit recently. A Hurricane IIc. There's no denying they are beautiful kits. Probably one of the best I've ever built. Just wish I could afford more.

  5. A rare sighting of something different over my house from the usual Ryanair and Easy Jet hardware in and out of Bristol. What appeared to be a SE5A replica, and what I think may have been a Hawker Fury replica heading east together in formation. Nice to see something unusual for once.

  6. Hi All;

    Everything I own paint wise is enamel. Very old enamels that I love using, always with a hairy stick. However, I've recently become sold on Vallejo Metal Colour paints, and even though they brush wonderfully, I've decided to be brave and crack open the Badger airbrush I bought.....wait for it....back in 1989 🤣 Seriously, airbrushes have scared me so much that I could never bring myself to use it.

    So, I've decided I want to try and use it for the first time to shoot some of the Vallejo Metal Colour. Long winded intro to a simple question: what's the best thing to clean my airbrush with afterwards with these paints?  I seriously don't have a clue as it's outside of my hairy stick/jam jar full of white spirit comfort zone.

    Thanks in advance!

    Wow Steve - You did her proud - what a job - amazing restoration - Steve:clap2: :clap2: :clap2:

    I can't take all the credit as I had to sell the Austin before the restoration got finished (due to getting married, having kids and moving 300 miles away!!) Did get the chassis, engine and running gear all sorted though. It was funny, but right before the GPO scrapped the vehicle, it must have been overhauled as the brake pads were all new, it had a brand new clutch and the engine had no wear whatsoever. Incredible really.

    Sorry if off topic.

    I won't spill too many beans - but Huw points out some extra parts on the clear sprue that seem to point to a future release of a K30 GS type - maybe like this...

    c=&risl=&pid=ImgRaw&r=0

    ...now that would be nice - wouldn't it.

    That would be very nice indeed! As a side note, I used to own that Austin in the photo above. Pulled it out of a scrap yard in the mid 90s. It actually started life as a GPO pole wagon. This is the day we picked it up. A younger, slimmer me on the right 😁 Period setting too. The concrete we're standing on is a former USAAF fuel dump area.
