  1. Practice, boys, lots of practice. But I also work smarter not harder On a 1/72 build, I spent almost no time on the interior. You won't see it anyway. Next I build as much as I can BEFORE filling and sanding. That way. I only sand seams you actually see.
  2. Hobby Boss kit, OOB with Eaglaecals. Nice little kit. Some slight fit issues, but they were resolved easily. A one day build, and the last for my current workbench, as I’m moving in a few days. Next build from the new one!
  3. Hase juuuust beats it out for fidelity, overall. But it is the best early Mitchell so far!
  4. That's a very good question. I haven't found an answer, either, but I did see plenty of pics of those fairings in place. Guess it was just an individual choice?
  5. The Hase kit slightly edges it out. But Hase doesn’t do an early Mitchell. Now if their Kate’s releases, yes this isn’t the best one, but it’s still very good, and far better than the misstep kits like the P-40B and Victor.
  6. OOB, except for the clear dome on the spine, which was scratchbuilt. Xtradecals.
  7. Testors Model Master. However, the white is decanted Tamiya TS-26 Pure White.
  8. They’ve really picked up their game, after the missteps with the P-40B and Victor. Going back to Indian plastic was a saving grace. And some of their financial woes have been slightly eased.
  9. Rest assured, a GPS bubble and a panel doesn’t take anything away from my enjoyment of this build. I’m happy with it, and it’s put to bed. 👍🏼
  10. It’s Dark Slate Gray, not green. And it’s TMM enamel. Airfix.
  11. That’s not all of it, either. I’ve built over 50 Bandai SW kits.
  12. No the FB sheet didn't have that. Either way, I don't care. So it may not have had the PTIDS at the time. The D&S didn't have specific info either. So I interpolated.
  13. Built OOB, except the orange hinomarus that I printed because the “limited edition” doesn’t come with them. It also doesn’t come with a Sullustian pilot. So human pilot it is! I
  14. Thanks! Nothing special really. However, for tomcats, I do some haphazard preshadong, followed by the base color, and focus on post shading with a lighter color. My wash is The Detailer water based wash, and almost all the rest of my weathering is done with Tamiya weathering sets.
  15. Iran food value for the money, to be sure. It does lack some detail, and it’s not Tamiya kit of course, but I didn’t feel I wasted any money on this kit. 👍🏼
  16. Meng 1/48 Tamiya 1/48 Hasegawa 1/48 Airfix 1/48 and here’s my 357th collection. A Tamiya, Meng and Airfix. See if you can tell which is which 😉
  17. I gotta say, Olivier, that having built every 1/48 Mustang now...that I still consider the Tamiya kit as the second best, even after all these years. I tie it with the Meng kit. Why? Because when you take a close look at the Meng kit, all it is, is a shrunken version of the 1/32 Tamiya kit. And that's what makes it great. The ICM kit is just a mediocre copy of the Tamiya kit. The new Airfix kit tops the list in 1/48. But only just. There are a couple things that I think it's still missing. But your build exquisitely demonstrates how well the Tamiya kit still hold up to this day. And just how great of a pltform it is for all your extra work. I bought a lot of the new Airfix kits, but I didn't get rid of any of my Tamiya kits. And I have a lot 😎 Coming in at more distant third, is the Hasegawa kit. I'd like to see what you could do with that kit
