  1. OOB, RK Decals. This tricolor Cat was based on Attu Island in the Aleutians in 1943-44. RoG rebox of the Academy kit. Very nice kit, no major fit issues. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
  2. Did it come with the shark nose and the LERXs?
  3. ...to which I say... yeah, and? 😎 Eduard’s new retool. Ripping the bandaid off, it’s a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Out of five. There’s some over and under engineering present in this kit. It’s also got some omissions which have probably been discussed elsewhere. At any rate, it was an enjoyable build. And I got a new appreciation for the subject. Definitely better looking than the Typhoon.
  4. Diggin. I’m curious to see the bottom of the RQ-7B. That’s also the v1 by the way. The current v2 is much different.
  5. Yes and no/yes. For camo projects, I post shade the camo colors. It gives a more consistent tonal depth because you don’t lose the pre shade at the demarcation lines. The Sky bottom, however was pre and post shaded. And yes, it’s washed with The Detailer acrylic wash.
  6. Well, what can I say? This is how you retool a subject! However, there are some areas that were slightly over engineered. Such as the top cowl. This could certainly have been a single piece. But the drain wasn’t that difficult to remove. Seatbelts, great in PE. The tie straps? Rather unnecceasary. The Mylar for the canopy ovals, also useless. The fuselage inserts for an open or closed canopy seems a bit much. Airfix dealt with this issue by just using two sized of canopy. It works and is near as makes no difference. But to indent the area where the canopy slides onto the fuselage was a nice stroke. And lastly, if Eduard can add subtle rivet detail, why can’t Tamiya? The fit is typical Tamiya, which is absolutely perfect. Overall, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 stars. The loss of a half star is for the things I mentioned. A new favorite!
  7. Hehe, my comment was gonna be about your schematic too 😆 Other than not using any standard schematic symbols, great build! But it’s certaibly not OOB in any way!
  8. Agreed. I still have a few Hase Spits in the stash, an have built many. But compared to the Eduard kit, it’s not even close.
  9. I read the build up, very nice! Ive been anticipating this since it’s announcement as it’s one of the subjects I was pleading Airfix would do. Now if Hannants would just get them in stock!
  10. Heh, reminds me I should do the same and put all my turkeys together and take a pic!
  11. We all have our things. Digging the build, even if I can’t stand the music 😆👍🏼
  12. 😆😆😆 Sylvester Staline is the best! And the build is good too! 👍🏼
  13. It may take a little longer than next week 😝 Moving today revealed so many things.
  14. I think you’re right. In which case, the airflow is still different on each side.
  15. The plastic for one. It was the British plastic instead of the Indian plastic. Panel lines were inconsistent. Fit was awful around the wings and intakes.
  16. Good to know on the fairings. Makes sense tmsicen they had counterroating props.
  17. Their quick build kits are hit and miss. This one as definitely a hit! It’s their 1/48 P-51s and P-30s that are meh. The P-38 is nice though, despite some shape and soft detail issues.
