  1. A family model can be made easily with Hase parts on a Tamiya kit
  2. http://zone-five.net/showthread.php?t=2107 And the last three I built, including this one: http://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29281
  3. But CCIPed F-16s don't have the extensive mods that MLU Vipers do, thus of course they don't change their Block #s.
  4. Just a note, the AM/BMs are effectively Block 20s, after they've been upgraded. Same standard as the purpose built Taiwanese Block 20 F-16s.
  5. As has been said before, it's a dog kit. But I was able to salvage a good 4-footer out of it:
  6. Read this first: Viper FAQ Then, if you still have questions, ask away!
  7. These do look mighty fine. Who does your printing nowdays, Danny?
  8. FS 36307, 36251, 35237. I just used those to finish this puppy, 1/48 Tamiya: I've also got the camo designed on pdf, so you can cut and make paper masks out of, if you'd like. And what jet are you looking to make? I do have the Icarus sheet actually.
  9. The one thing about the metal plates, is that the nose conductor or 'RAM' panels are difficult to form and stay on. My advice, if you're making a jet with those installed, it to just make them out of .01" plastic card. I did that for my latest HAF Viper, and it worked a charm. I've drawn out the plates in scale, if you're interested. You can just print and cut from that.
  10. An my friend, you use my fave method of masking camo-tac worms and paper masks Tip top!
  11. Ah, I gotcha. Fair enough! Rabspat's gotcha covered on the link. I think you'll enjoy it over there. Like he said, it's where all us mean, merry, miscreant, misfits went to hang out!
  12. Doh! Gues you gotta go to the standby projects eh? I just finished a build, the latest in a series of three Vipers. It's in the critique section if you want to check it out...ya know pass the time away
  13. And what's wrong with the normal Viper's camo? Check out my HAF F-16C, a nice partner to this one.
  14. It was simpler than I thought! The Hasegawa parts fit very well, though no problems. The trouble I had was getting the Black Box cockpit to fit well. In the end, the fron cockpit sits a bit too low, and the seats don't have the correct angle. But it was a first time. Here's some pics of the conversion: That's the Hase canopy sitting right atop the modified Tamiya front fuselage, fit almost like a glove. The panel lines matched up quite well, too.
  15. Eh, that WP set isn't the greatest. It's easier to just kitbash from other Tamiya kits to get a Block 30. Or just buy the C/N kit. Everything is included for that one. Rabspat's been hanging out over at Z5, you might want to share this build with us over there too, lots of Viper guys. At any rate, so far so good!
  16. Verrry interesting. That's a lot of aftermarket you're using, but to good effect I see.
  17. That's how it was painted. Most Adversary birds had the NAVY or MARINES markings cross from one color into another to accommodate the camo scheme. Thanks guys!
  18. And last. not least, a Hellenic Viper. I tried to use the Wolfpack parabrake tail set, but it was useless. The resin they use just shrinks far too much, and didn't fit ell at all. I ended up using only the ECM fairing, chute pack and navlight fairings. The parabrake tail came from a Hasegawa F-2 kit. It fit perfectly. Decals are Icarus: I apologize for the wonky look of these pics, my aperture was giving me hell, so I had to put my pshop skills to use. Enjoy!
  19. Second, was a conversion to a DG, using a Hasegawa rear canopy hump, and the canopy itself. It was relatively easy conversion, as the parts fit very well. BB cockpit, Afterburner decals:
  20. Hey all! Thought I'd show these over here too, in case some of you don't frequent Zone-Five any. All three Tamiya kits. The first in an F-16N, which I converted from the Block 25/32 kit, before Tam released the uber C/N kit. So I pilfered a GE exhaust, and donut panel from a CJ kit. Decals are Fightertown, which I had a hand in creating. The chin pods were taken from a Hase N kit, and the ACMI pod came from a Hase weapons set:
  21. Verrah nice-ah! So you're in the home stretch?
  22. Almost there. Edit: nm, found your album and pics of the mains.
  23. Pint for ya if I ever meet you in person man!
  24. Looking great! But dude, brush up on your control surface terminology man! It has leading edge flaps, not slats. It also has separate flaps, and ailerons on the trailing edge, no flaperons. Tailerons....eh, I'll give you a pass on that one, since they do help in roll authority. But otherwise, those are horizontal stabilizers, or just stabs
