  1. That'll be a bear to paint, but fun!
  2. That's a great little kit and goes together in a flash! Good work!
  3. It lives!!! Heh, you know you're right, it's smoother. Stellar my friend!
  4. It wasn't 'copied' from the Monogram kit, it IS the Monogram kit. Same molds. But looking good, dude!
  5. Yes! Yes! Make it dirty! Aircraft get dirty, that's just how it goes. Gives them character. Thanks for the kind words, guys!
  6. Just as it says, I just added some SS decals, and built it right OOB, enjoy!
  7. Interesting! Please share that process, I'd like to see. I just use chalk pastels myself, so I'm thinking it's a similar method. I just don't use a wet brush with it.
  8. Looking good. Almost too good! What are you going do to weather it?
  9. Been watching this a while. great progress!
  10. Ah, ok, gotcha on the brakes. I'll remember that for the next build. Thanks guys!
  11. Smite her! You should make it clear that room is verboten! Edit: Oh she's hot? Ok, well just don't let her near there again.
  12. Saw some the recent builds and thought I'd make a contribution. I built this a few years back. Ital kit, Pavla cockpit, ModAll decals. Enjoy!
  13. Hey dude! Got your PM, thanks! Ok, what I used for both the N and the HAF Vipers are paper masks and tac. I used mostly paper masks. I drew out the design, then cut it out and did one color at a time. I usually preshade all my builds, except for complex, curvy camo schemes. When I do camo, I will post shade, so that you get that blended look you're looking for. I use the base color, then add a couple drops of black to it, and then go over the panels lines with this darkened shade. I start with color 1, then lay down my masking, and do color 2. The paper masks are cut out, and I use thin thin worms of tac placed under the mask, so that it holds the paper's edge about 1mm off the surface. This gives it that crisp, but still soft edge. Here's some examples, on some of my other builds: I also use tac worms to get to the tricky bits paper doesn't cover well. Hope that gives you an idea. If there's anything else, ask away!
  14. The nav lights don't change. In fact the LAU-129 rails have the cutout for them.
  15. Any major problems? You mean other than being the Academy kit? You seem to have a handle on it pretty good though, despite all the deficiencies of the kit itself.
  16. Another repaint??!!?? How can we not panic?
