  1. It may be Bock's car, but it was Sweeney's bird when Fat Man was dropped.
  2. Academy’s new tool 1/72 F-15E. By now we’ve all see and heard of the terrible exhausts. That’s really the only huge drawback. I remedied that with the Aires nozzles. Easy peasy. I added a GBU-31 JDAM, GBU-12 Paveways and a an AIM-9L, but everything else was OOB. The fit was excellent, absolutely NO filler was used in this build. Solid 4-Star kit!
  3. The P-40B. Detail was soft, panel lines inconsistent, fit was subpar and engineering lazy. It was also in the dark plastic from the UK, which contributed to all of that. The Victor was just like that too. In fact I sold off my P-40 kits, including the one I built. It was a stumble. This kit is a return to their former self.
  4. They’re my go-to. I’ve been using them for over 30 years. They’re predictable and stable. That’s why I be them!
  5. Just the few hours I have after work. But I have a busy autumn coming up, so production will slow a bit.
  6. Airfix is back! The first new tool of the year and it’s a gem! Back is the nice, soft, easy to work with, Indian plastic. The fit is fantastic, and it’s sobwasy to fill and sand. They stumbled with the Victor and P-40. But with this kit, they’re back to their former quality and value. OOB, Xtradecals, TMM enamels.
  7. Oh I'm sure later in the war, it got pretty grimy anyway!
  8. Oh hey! Another ROKAF Mustang! Much better job on this one, mate. I used the HB kit, and it's not the best representation. This one is nice and dirty, I dig!
  9. Not the cleanest, or the dirtiest, but I like it either way. What you did capture well was staining and fading. I'm a big fan of that.
  10. Fantastic! Love the blending of the paint shades on the top. And it's dirty!
  11. For those curious, the paint is all Alclad, all the time! 😁 I used seven shades. Aluminum, dark aluminum, duralumin, airframe aluminum, high shine aluminum, semi-matte aluminum and steel. The center wing panels were Tamiya XF-16 aluminum enamel (NOT acrylic). As for my photography, thanks! But the real hero is my iPhone 7+. All of the photos and editing were done on the very phone I’m typing on 😉
  12. I’ve built Sabres before, but this is only the second one I’ve done in BMF. Standard Hasegawa kit with Warbird decals. This is an F-86F-1 that had the 6-3 wig kit fitted late in the war.
  13. The attachment lugs are angled, so they only went in one way. Ah well, I was just wanting to finish the project and didn't look too hard at it. Next one won't be a HB, so it won't have this problem
  14. It is a Hase rebox for sure. And good thing it is! It still holds up as a very good kit. Only the Tam and Meng are better.
  15. That they do, but hey it's what they want. Btw, this is for sale if anyone is interested.
  16. Just wondering, as that's what the print scale sheet calls for. Just looks so bright.
  17. So this is the latest boxin gif the HB Mustang, from the Chinese PLAAF. Although the box says P-51D/K, it comes with ZERO P-51K parts. As in, no Aeroproducts prop or "Dallas" bulged canopy. As has been probably posted before, this Mustang kit is rather toylike, and has several shape issues. The good news is the fit was very good, although the panel liens are very thin, almost too thin. But hey, for $18, I couldn't resist. For markings, I used an old Aeromaster sheet for Korean F-51s.
  18. I'd normally critique that it's not dirty enough, but I can't! Excellent!
