  1. Very nice. Amazing how little French infantry kit changed between WW1 and WW2.
  2. It looks a bit like a cross between an F-16 and an F-5. Nice work.
  3. That would be a a cool model. Same the real thing was cancelled. Turned out to be quite short-sighted.
  4. Hi all, Sorry to be a bother, but I have another question. I recently purchased an air brush, but I live in a small apartment and don't have a painting booth. I'm trying to use less toxic acrylic and water-based paints. I also use a 3m organic respirator when painting. However, I recently read that Tamiya acrylics aren't water-based, but are solvent-based. So I'm worried about using them. Is it adequate to use a respirator with a fan and wide open window when using these paints? Or is it a health danger? I suppose I could purchase some Vallejo water based paints instead. But I just bought a bunch of Tamiya paint an X-20 thinner. Thanks in advance.
  5. I wet sand my plastic models with a mask. However, I don't have a ventilation system. Is this harmful to my health?
  6. Troy, I really appreciate the reply. I have some lighter fluid and some black oil paint. Maybe I will try that. Will open the window and use a fan. What ratio of fluid to paint do you use?
  7. Apologies if these are silly questions. First, I read that gloss coat should be applied before applying wash to facilitate capillary action around panel lines ect. Is this true? Or can I use matte clear coat instead? I tried this on some tank tools for practise. The wash looks ok, but the gloss coat doesn't. Can I get rid of the gloss by painting matte over it? Second, I live in a small apartment and don't have powerful ventilation. Consequently, I don't want to use enamel paints die to fumes. I bought some vallejo acrylic wash. However, I have heard various modellers say that they won't use acrylic wash. Can you get half decent results with an acrylic wash? Nathan.
  8. Was it common for German WW2 tank crews to spray camouflage over tools & accessories on the deck of the tank? If so, is it possible to realistically represent this on a model? Thanks.
  9. Thanks so much for the helpful replies.
  10. Nice. I would love to do something similar with a Canadian CF-104.
  11. I'm building a Tamiya 1/35th Tiger I. First serious model. Was thinking of trying to simulate some gouges or denting in side skirt (fender?) above track. Was wondering if anyone has any advice. By the way, I don't possess any electric tools. Thanks.
