  4. Hi all I have the Italeri 1/48 Tornado IDS and the Airfix Tornado F3,the nose cone from the Airfix F3 is a little large for the IDS fuselage as a nose match. So when i measured the two up the Italeri nose fits inside the Airfix one so i was thinking of using the Airfix nose as a mould, but what resin and where would i get it from so as i could complete the task. Cheers Clive.
  5. This is what inspired me to get an F3 Tornado. Also saw these whilst at conningsby. Cheers Clive.

  7. Hi all could anyone help me,im looking for a 1/48 Italeri Tornado F3,i just went out and brought an Airfix one today not knowing what to expect in the ways of how the kit looks and fits.Well i have never had either kit before now,and the Airfix kit is a bit crap to say the least but modellers we are and if need be i will do my upmost with it.But i would like the chance to compare it with the only other 1/48 kit of its kind so if anyone can help it would be most appreciated. Cheers Clive.

  10. Thanks for the comment Pete,as for the final parking place er you got me there.I have only got two bedrooms in my flat and i build my kits in the second one and it is fast becoming very limited for space at the mo.Still it could spend a little time up at Hannants in London for a while just till i get things sorted back here. Cheers Clive.
  11. Hi Ant yes i got your stuff thanks for that and yes it was me that bagged the Revell Tornado yesterday and thanks for that info to. Cheers Clive.
  12. Hi guys well a small update this is how things look now,im still in the process of finishing the cockpit at the mo.Here are a few pic's of her now,she has the wing pylons and tanks firmily glued in place. The last pic is of the burning bum end and this needs some work to make it look good. Cheers Clive.
  13. Neil have you still got all your build pic's for this model as i would seriously consider making one of these and purchasing all of the resin that goes to make it. I was lucky enough to pick up a GR3 model for £5 last year at the Fairford airshow, the whole stash only lasted 15mins,from the moment i picked my one up i have never seen them for that price since. Cheers Clive.
  14. Hi all well here we go,she is not much to look at right now but hopfully by the end of July i will have her painted. All looks a bit of a mess right now but hope to change all that soon, its all the missing bits that the German versions do not have that the RAF ones do that is taking the time to find or build.Still Fairford comming up weekend after next so pray for the good weather mmmm!. Cheers Clive.
  15. Hi all do they do a two seat conversion for the 1/48 Airfix Jaguar if so who makes it and where could i get one. Cheers Clive.

    HELP

I think we may have solved it take a look at this pic,its of the before and after look of the launch rails on the pylons. The after one is the one on the left of the pic and the other one shows just how much they are out,so if you intend dropping the flaps then you had better take into consideration that the pylon launch rails are at the wrong angle. Thanks for the pointers chaps its much appreciated, now all im going to have to do is glue all that hair back in place. Cheers Clive.

    HELP

Here you go. This is only push fit so the thing can and will be straightned when finally fixed. But there is not much in the way of room here even with the thing straight.

    HELP

Hi all I seem to have come up against a major problem, whilst dry fitting a pylon to my GR4 i have found that the missile rack gets to touch the flap in the lowered position, although i have opted to put the LAU-138 BOL rail on the pylon the same thing applies if you fit the normal rail to the pylon,it still touches the lowered flap.I have altered the flap and if i want the whole thing to work then im looking at the flap position to be nearly horizontal. My question is how do i get round this major problem,is there something wrong with all this dropped flap mallarky or is it me or at a wild guess the kit being out of true.Dose any of you have a picture showing the distance between the AIM-9L and the underside of the flap as a guide to how close this all is and how i should overcome this problem. Here are a few pic's to show what i mean with the problem in question. This is how the problem looks at the mo. As you can see from this pic its quite close to the flap and this is without the AIM-9 attached. The gap between the main wing and the dropped flaps is not right im sure but this is how it looks. Just another view of how far back i have the flaps to acomadate for the rail. Looks aweful im sure this can not be right. This is the other side which has not been tampered with yet and i was sure that this was the correct position for the dropped flaps. Cheers Clive.
