Hi all i just got myself one of these Nichimo 1/20 scale Cessna 172 Skyhawks.I was just wondering if any of you out there knew of any good reference sites i could get some pictures from especially of the engine. It looks a good kit but has any of you built one and if so is there anything to look out for in the way of glitches.I got this kit cheap and compared to the price of the last one that was sold on ebay im quite lucky to get this kit for the price i paid, someone has told me they are as rare as hens teeth. If anyone could help with any references at all i would be most greatful. Clive.

Hi all just some small progress as im moving house at the mo so the hobby is suffering along with the pic's as i have packed away the camera. The Squadron markings were home made,im hoping to get her finished before the year is out anyway. When she is finished she will have all the trimmings bombs and missiles will be attached in the appropriate places. Clive.

Ignoring the decal copyright issue for a moment. Ah forgot about that little item, well i will rephrase the issue has anyone got any of the decals spare from the Model alliance sheet that contain the 11Sqn markings,if not then does anyone have photos side on of the tail and the intake housing emblem that they could let me have so as i could make my own decals for this particular squadron thanks Clive.

This is mine at the mo. I took it at Conningsby last summer. And this was my previous one, also taken at Conningsby last year. Clive.

Hi all does anyone have a set of the Model Alliance decals that contain the 11 Sqn Typhoon in them,if so could you scan the emblems for me and e-mail them to me at : viper494fs@blueyonder.co.uk ,as i can not find any pics of the squadrons emblems so as i can make my own and use them for the 1/48 Typhoon i have.Plus its a lot of money for just one set of decals when i only want 4 items from the sheet. Many thanks for anyones help on this. Clive.

Hi all can this version of the Canberra be converted to a PR9 version,if so what needs doing and are there any walkrounds and drawings of the PR9 to hand.Looks a good kit by the way and at the firs look the decals are of better quality than the Nimrod. Clive.

This is what im aiming for the decals will have to be home made and the guns scratch built, there's going to be a lot of work not looking foward to that bit,and here is a picture of what its going to look like when shes all done. Oh and here is the nearly finished rotorhead. Clive.

The helo comes fully assembled in three sections the front the rear and the wings that attach to the side mounts. All you have to do is discard the wings and then start to chop it up.The hardest things to get right are the plume detectors on the rear tail fin and the FLIR pod that sits under the nose these had to be scratch built from resin, plastic card and filler. The exhausts have also been cut about as they need some detailling,in general its a good base kit for large model builders but like everything these are in small quantity as they have been around for some time. What inspired me to get one was that i saw one on you tube that had been converted to radio control obviously they lack in detail but it started the ball rolling. If you would like to see the R/C version on you tube then just type in the search bar : scale master and there you will seee a number of these copters that he builds for people.

Hi Mike and copey to get it to this stage i have had to take the whole helo apart and butcher the interior,i've had to take the seats out of it,i have had to make the cockpit from plastic card as the original is for the UH-60A.The interior is no where near finished as im lacking in interior pic's especially in the cockpit area.I have had to sand down the whole of the rear end to get shot of those aweful rivets, and i have had to fill the screw holes in with plastic tube and filler. The rotor head is some what nearly finished just needs a few things doing to it and then it will go under the airbrush. The rear rotor is also nearly complete just need to add the cables to it and it to will be ready for spraying.Everything you see in these pic's that is white is the work i have done to it so far, appart from the straightening of the rear tail plane that i had to do for the MH-60G has the new folding tail plane and not the old solid one which is on the UH-60 Blackhawks, unfortunately i am working from my lap top and its not very powerful so hence the lack of pictures, but as soon as i get my PC back then i will be able to post things far better.Im also adding an IFR boom and this also has to be scratch built, certain bits of this build are nearly finished and the fault in the build is the interior to which i have no reference on what so ever.Im using the pic's from the prime portal site and a few my mate took of the one that came to the US anniversary at RAF Duxford last year but any help is always appreciated. It certainly is a challenge to do if all goes well i might try another but im not thinking of any other ones at this moment in time as i have to work out where im going to put this one believe you me its big with the IFR boom intact around 42'' long thats 1070mm just over the meter. Thanks for showing an interest Clive.

Hi not a lot of interest has been shown on this subject i take it people just dont like helicopters?. Still i will leave you with these pic's to see if i can turn anyones interest. Mr C.

Hi all not the normal 1/35 Academy kit but a 1/18 Blackhawk to which im converting to a MH-60G Pave Hawk.Yep they dont come any bigger than this, well they do but then it gets to big.I must be mad i hear you say well yes i am as i also have another helicopter even bigger and its not radio controlled,i know what i said aerlier about getting to big but i had the larger one some years ago and its been hidding in the cupboard for all that time.Anyhow here are a few pic's of the Pave Hawk. And this pic gives you some idea as to how big it is. Cheers Clive.

This is my one and i think it looks like what its supposed to be.I forgot about the glare shield being seperate still it does make life easier for fitting the aires cockpit. Clive.
-
Hi if you are going to cut out the original glare shield then you might aswell cut the rest out as it will need some adjustment anyway. Thats my advice, anyway its not that a difficult job to do i have done it. Clive.

Hi all now bearing in mind that i have never done this before and that the printer im using is somewhat seven plus years old and showing its age,i have to say that its come out not to bad,the decal sheet im using is the white inkjet experts choice decal paper.I was a bit dissapointed that the green and yellow stripes came through the decal but hey i might do another decal only a bit darker and maybe that might just fix it who knows. But im definately going to have to get a new printer if im going to continue this decal thing because the decals are a bit on the blotchy side, they looked good on paper but on the decal sheet they seem somewhat blotchy.Anyway here is how she looks now not a stunner by any means but hey she'll do for me good oh!. And this is just to show the wing droop or anhedral to the pro's amongst us. Ah well its nearly the new year and i bid you all a good one stay safe and live long happy new year to one and all. Cheers Clive.
