  1. Hi all thanks for the kind words and taking the time to look I, Alan thanks mate I know what you mean lets hope so. Bill I still have to put the rest of the stencils on your right, the decals are so brittle that I was a bit worried that they might bust up so I'm having a think on how I might get around this but I will finish her. Cheers Clive
  2. Hi all again not my preferred scale but yet another 72nd scale model, this time its the Mosquito absolutely love this bird and this is the Airfix offering. Cheers all Clive
  3. Hi all this is not my usual scale but I have enjoyed every minute of building it, its the 1/72 Fujimi F-4M Phantom a nice little kit goes together real nice hardly any filler was used it really is a sweet little kit of a great plane so here she is. Hope you like her. Clive
  4. WOW that looks the bizz mate, now how's this for coincidence, I fuelled a BA flight to Malaga the other day and upon leaving the cockpit through first class cabin there right in front of me was no other than Mr Sulu George Takei I just could not believe it so I guess I now have to get the lights and build the kit. Clive
  5. Well Sir Your doing an astounding job on this Andy, I just cant get my head around all that masking. I have had this kit for quite some time now and wanted to get the lighting kit for it, as you cant have it without lights but I'm not single anymore and now have one child plus one on the way and money has become a thing of the past. So I guess she will be in the loft for a bit longer but your model is looking great and I look forward to the finished kit. Clive
  6. This is fantastic Dan your definitely doing the old kit justice, I have this in the loft might give it a go when I see your end result. What's the new job?, mine takes up nearly all of my time then the daughter of 2 takes up another percentage and what's left is not much but I do squeeze a bit of modelling in. Clive
  7. Hi all Thanks Dave for the comment very much appreciated now just a quick update, the fairing was painted then it was a quick fit to see how she will look. Now its just the finishing touches to do. Clive
  8. Hi all thanks for your interest, to answer your question on the tyres yes they do come into the UK with those Bridgestone tyres on, but they take them off and replace the entire wheel and tyres to suit the owners needs. Hi Colin the bike your making is the one model I'm looking for to make, theres a guy at work who owned a replica of that bike and it was a superb machine but it seems I've joined the bike building community to late as these kits are all but long disappeared now and are proving hard to find at a builders price, they all seem to be aimed at the collector who pays silly money for these things. Still on with the build, she's come along a bit now so here are a few pic's. My carbon fibre efforts by spraying through copper mesh. The frame is all now nice and red. The front forks are done just the brake lines to add. The engine and rear swing arm are now joined together. And a quick test fit before the spraying of the bodywork. Cheers all Clive.
  9. Hi folks I'm back this time with the Italeri 1/9 Ducati Desmosedici RR, so far this is what I've done. 1. I have replaced the radiator as the original was no good. 2.The shock absorber was also upgraded as the original strut was to soft and bent under pressure. 3.The main frame had the two front strut parts changed as they were not the right angle like the real one. 4.The rear seat hump has had some change in the way of the rear number plate housing and the enamel panel that sits over the exhaust outlet. 5.The rear swing arm had the brake housing removed as it didn't resemble the real thing, I have also added the bobbins where the stand supports the bike and a brake hose clip has been added but its not shown in this pic, and I'm now working on a new brake caliper housing for the rear brake. I also added a brake reservoir to the rear of the foot peg mount. 6.The brake reservoirs on the handle bars have had a touch up one being totally replaced as it was to large and now looks the part. I also made good the front suspension. Cheers Clive
  10. Hi Chris I'm off Monday and Tuesday
  11. Hi Rich & Steve your rite mate this is not the last its the first of six I have, the second kit I'm making is the Ducati Desmosedici in 1/9 scale. I will post pic's of that one soon but there's not much to that kit so it will be done sooner than I first thought. The others are all 1/9 scale and some I might not make as they seem to be collectors items but hey ho! you never know. Cheers Clive
  12. Hi all thanks for your interest I must admit I never thought I would ever do a motorbike kit but I have enjoyed this, its finished now so here are some of the finished kit. Clive
  13. Hi all this is my first model kit of a motorbike its Colin Edwards Honda RC211V, I'm not to sure as to where you get reference pic's from as I normally build aircraft. But I'm enjoying the change so much I went and brought another two bikes to make a Ducati Desmo and another Honda RC211V. This all started when a chap at work sold his real bike a MV Agusta and asked me if I wanted some model kits he had, so I obliged and said yes to my supprise I got a model of his F4 MV Agusta and two other older versions these are Protar models and I can honestly say I've never heard of that make of kit. Anyway here are some pic's. The bits on the bench. Now some decals are added. That's all folks more to come. Clive
  14. I don't think he has the kit anymore, I'm sure he binned it and was asking if anyone had a kit they didn't want I could be wrong but he's been gone a long time. You can buy the cockpit from Heritage as I have one and its pretty good. Clive.
  15. Hi there Your museum is right she is indeed an ex Falklands bird, she served with No1 squadron from HMS Hermes in June 1982 but unfortunately she never saw any action as she arrived to late. She stayed on board Hermes until the surrender on the 14th June 1982, then she was moved to RAF Stanley for just over a month to which then she returned home on the 6th July 1982. Hope this was of help. Clive
  16. Hi Dave thanks for that, do you know why he's left and where I might find his build elsewhere on the net forums as this is the first tank I'm doing and I have no idea what's what as I'm not a tank man I usually build aircraft. Thanks Clive
  17. Hi all I just got one of these for farthers day from my beautiful wife and daughter thanks girls love you loads, any more updates on yours Nigel. Clive.
  18. Hi Nigel is there any more progress or are you still recovering from your 50th H'B by the way.
  19. Hi Sean My mate has a couple of these and from what I've seen of them they're not bad for the money and have some nice detailing on the kit. After all the Hasegawa one is a bit over priced and seeing as I have a Hasegawa one it lacks in detail where as the HB one is a bit better. Clive
  20. Cheers vp I forgot to mention I have those aswell, I got most of what was readily available when I bought my first kit to which that got destroyed before I made it so all I'm looking for are any other lumps n bumps that I don't already have. Cheers guys
  21. Hi all Can anyone tell me if there are any update resins for this kit, I have the Eduard interior set the shull24 sniper pod and TOW pods but I can't seem to find anything else that's if there is anything else to be had. Clive
  22. Hi all this is not my normal scale 1/72 but I thought I would give it ago, and I was pleasantly supprised at how well she's turning out. Clive
  23. Hi all here is my Boeing 747-8i, I'm not normally into airliners even though I work with them all day long. Its the Zvezda kit I brought from Chris Rogers last year some time, and I must say she goes together really well. Anyway here's a look at her she's ready for that first coat of primer so I hope to have her all done by the end of today. Here's the wings before they were attatched, mighty big I must say. And finally I got her all together sanded and all ready for the primer. thanks for stopping by more to come soon. Clive
