  1. Trever Snowden told me himself at SMW that this is happening.
  2. Shame we'll never see an airliner bedecked with the 1986 Oxford United League cup winning team; unless I win the Euro Millions of course. I know I'm a real sad B@&$*%d. Still we did beat Man U quite regularly in those days. Ducks for cover! Martin

Right now the scary bit for a modeller of FAA aircraft well out of his comfort zone! I finally managed to stagger across the finishing line. Be gentle. Martin

Thanks General. Lokng forward to seeing the B2R. Incidently how did you go about the extended wing tips? I quite fancy a B2 myself. I hace, however, definitely learned my lesson and it will be from the Matchbox kit this time!!
  5. Thats lovely! Well worth all the effort. It will grace any V Bomber collection. Look forward to seeing it in the flesh at Telford. Martin

Got back from the wilds of the Inner Hebredies at the week end. Work continued whilst I was away and the model is now up to the painting stage and looking.....well very white at the moment. IPMS duties permitting I'll try and get some pics onto the forum this week. Martin

Right the last Pics before I depart to the wilds of the Inner Hebrides. I did what you said General. You are of course right it does look better with the tail cone more pointed. I glued the nose on this evening and then layered on more Miliput than you can shake a sanding stick at. I just have to keep telling myself that no matter how hard converting this kit is as least the finishing should be a breeze. Will spend tomorrow round my mates house doing the anti-flash roundels. Thanks I appreciate the advice. it seems that there was more plastic left on the tail cone than I thought as I managed to get it more pointed without exposing the metal core. Have started painting the interior and will post some more pictures of progress this week. I am then taking the model on holiday for a fortnight to try and get it as finished as possible ( I have an exceptionally understanding other half! ) and will let you all know how things are going on my return. Martin
  9. Thats looking very smat indeed! I like it! Martin

Thanks General. I was fearing your comments more than anyones as as a Fleet Ait Arm builder normally. I don't have anything like your experience in the area of V bombers. I'll have a bash at the tail cone but i don't know how much more pointed I can get it as it has a metal core where I put it in my mini drill to turn it up. Sprayed up the interior this evening, detail painting tomorrow. Martin

A couple more pics as I get to grips with the camera. at the moment she is disassembled so I can spray the cabin interior. View of some of the tail area modifications. There needs to be a fairing under the Fin to tailplane joint but this will need to be done when the tailplane is glued on. View of underside. The undercarriage and wheels are only dry fitted at this stage. From time to time We cloud all probably learn from this mantra found on the istruction sheet! Martin I meant this one! Martin

Right my first attempt with the new camera. So be gentle about the quality of the pics! Martin
  13. This is top quality work! Any chance of it making Telford? Martin

Right. I think I have nearly clubbed this kit into submission, at least all the areas I was woried about. I will begin to paint the cockpit this weekend. Two last questions what colour was the rear of the crew cabin? I know the pilots stations were black but detail pictures of B1s are hard to come by. Also what colour was the wind shield part of the entrance door? I only have B/W pictures of this on B1s and on B and K2s the colour seems to vary. Will have the replacement camera up and running this weekend and wil try to use it to post some pics. Martin
  15. Does anybody have any sprue shots of the kit yet? So we can make more informed decisions as to whether the kit is worth the money. I suspect though it will come down to which of the two kits suit the individual modeller's style, taste and/or pocket. For example if you want lots of detail from the box the Italeri kit might be the better buy. If, however, you are more interested in doing lots of colour schemes and are on a budget ( which of us isn't feeling the pinch a bit these days?) then probably the Airfix kit will be the way to go. Ah! That expains some of the curious mouldings inside the fuselage halves and the long spigots on the control surfaces. I should have been alerted to the kit's accuracy when i read in the instructions to"paint the model as per the box top or any colour you like"!!!!! Martin
