  1. My dear Martian I have a question for a modeller with vast experience I'm sorry that this is probably not the right place but here goes anyway. Can you tell me how long kleer usually takes to dry ?

    Thank you many tentacled one

It is touch dry within about fifteen to twenty minutes but I never touch what I have used it on, usually transparencies, for a good twenty four hours. I can then be 100% sure that it is fully cured. It is almost certainly cured well before that, about an hour at a guess, as it is originally designed as a floor polish but I don't believe in taking any unnecessary chances with my builds.

      Hope that helps

  2. Hi Martin

Saw you posted some detailed drawings of cabin equipment. Do you perhaps have drawings of the mechanicals involved with  the folding tail on a Wessex HU5. I am building a 1:8th scale flying model so don't know if I can post here.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I believe the tail fold on the Sikorsky H-34 is all but identical. There are quite a few walk arounds on the web for this type.

I do have that information but, due to building works at home, my files are not accessible and will probably not be so for some time.

  6. Just discovered Blackburn did an aircraft called the Blackburn Blackburn. It's so ugly that they obviously didn't bother too much about a name!

It was the rhythm guitarist n our band. He had this cunning plan of practicing acoustically in his garden tomorrow night! Rest assured he will be being called to account!

  11. Why did Airfix discontinue the Walrus!

Probably because they had sold all of their production run and do not expect to sell enough in the immediate future to do another run just yet. They can be picked up quite easily on Evilbay still and I would be very surprised not to see it make a comeback. Unless, of course, they decide to do a new tooling......
