We do but being aware of Geth‘s (intriguing and educating) career example, especially regarding the lessons on unwanted consequences they are thankfully quite „reluctant sorcerers“. To my untrained eye, these floats have some resemblance to the He-115 floats, at least those that came with the Matchbox kit. I can‘t vouch for dimensions, though but maybe looking in this direction might help? There might be some gentle soul on the sunny side of the U.S. with unused pieces of plastic.....

If you have an artist‘s supply shop in your vicinity look for pigment powders. They come quite inexpensive and are quite effective.

If you came this far, why don‘t you go all the way and use a vacform canopy - at least for the sliding part? It looks sooo much better and really isn‘t that much work. Rob Taurus makes nice things, or any other set specified for this kit! Great job so far BTW!

On a more serious note, all this scratchbuilding is getting to me. I am gradually feeling more confident in trying to do it myself, just by picking up so many techniques inadvertently through watching your builds!
