„Have a Break - Have some Meth!
Stromness replied to Stromness's topic in Ready For Inspection - Dioramas
Military police will kick their behinds if the don‘t leave room for other/ faster units. I am thinking about an 8-wheeler scout car passing them on an urgent mission (larger reserve of speed....) -
„I don‘t understand why we‘re supposed to halt now! I wanna see action! These pills they‘ve been giving us since we passed Sedan make me all jumpy - I can‘t just sit here!“ “Corporal, what d‘you think?“ “Looking at the map we swiped at the filling station I can’t believe our tanks ever made it this far without falling apart......“ “Well this one‘s about when I look at those springs.“ “I bet headquarters just ran flat out of those tablets. We‘ll know more when the lieutenant gets back from his briefing.“ - Tanks are from S-Model, figures from Preiser; some nerve-wracking detailing has been applied. My ophthalmologist told me not to do another project of this type before next year unless I care for a white cane ...... Scale is 1:72 - (It is now acknowledged that the German „Blitzkrieg“ in 1940 would not have been possible without the liberal use of amphetamines, which had been invented shortly before the war. Berlin company Temmler made a fortune providing the Wehrmacht with vast amounts of „speed“......)

You‘re a man after my heart, dear Moa! ( Can‘t express it properly in Spanish, lamento mucho). No I‘ll go and listen to some life Joan Baez (guess the record) or Gloria Estefán (Mi Tierra) to warm my heart. Northern Lights Observatory, signing off. Good night/ buenas noches/ bonne nuit/Gute Nacht/kalinichta

We do but being aware of Geth‘s (intriguing and educating) career example, especially regarding the lessons on unwanted consequences they are thankfully quite „reluctant sorcerers“. Tuition for the academy is high anyway so no danger of wizard inondation.... Most of us are quite content with their attitude though some careless souls occasionally grumble about „shouldn’t be too hard to make us some nicer weather“ .... be careful what you wish for and look at the pole caps....

„What was that underslung tube for? Umbrella? Baguette for the continental routes? “ Swordsticks. No weapons inside the plane. Same as today.

Sounds like a good way to get rid of „Hexperts“ through attrition.

A man‘s gotta do what a man‘s gotta..... oh well. Per aspera ad asphyxia. I now tend to go about these chores in a way like „Just do it without thinking if you like it, then do something you REALLY like“ . Sort of extinguishing the tedium with something much more appealing - your choice of course Skål! -
Sweet! What blue did you use for the Argentinian colours? I always have trouble coming up with the proper shade in my South American builds. Looks like a tonal variation of French Blue to me ..... from a layman‘s perspective of course

That‘s good! Nothing more depressing on a model to view than cucumber sandwiches slowly wilting away over the years...... -
Sort of a „Speed Junkers“, perhaps in a desperate attempt to get a foot into the U.S. market? Intriguing what-if....! On second thought no, it would look like a poor man‘s Couzinet.....

Moa, your neat style of working is simply a joy to behold! Eye candy, and a great encouragement when facing „technical adversity“ ..... (i.e. lack of skill and/or confidence) -
To my untrained eye, these floats have some resemblance to the He-115 floats, at least those that came with the Matchbox kit. I can‘t vouch for dimensions, though but maybe looking in this direction might help? There might be some gentle soul on the sunny side of the U.S. with unused pieces of plastic.....

If you have an artist‘s supply shop in your vicinity look for pigment powders. They come quite inexpensive and are quite effective. -

If you came this far, why don‘t you go all the way and use a vacform canopy - at least for the sliding part? It looks sooo much better and really isn‘t that much work. Rob Taurus makes nice things, or any other set specified for this kit! Great job so far BTW! -

Lovely!! BTW I didn‘t know Dijon mustard was available in bucket size .....did you use it as a color standard or in the mix to get the correct shade? On a more serious note, all this scratchbuilding is getting to me. I am gradually feeling more confident in trying to do it myself, just by picking up so many techniques inadvertently through watching your builds!- 7 replies
