1/72 Fujimi A-4F 'Fake Mig' Aggressor
Luka replied to Dermo245's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Aggressor camo schemes rule! π Great looking model; I built this same plane in its old wraparound desert scheme without the MiG 17 shape. Love the 'bad guy' group shot too! π -
A very old Airfix 1/72 Spitfire IX

Nostalgia attack! I built this one as a PR Spit in ye olde days.. -
The old Airfix 1/72 Gloster Gladiator
Luka replied to Black Knight's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Nice one, you even left the pilot included in the fuselage halvesπ -
Echoing the amazement on the hairy-stick NMF. Those are some colourful silver birds!ππ

Cool! Like the weathering on the undersidesπ

Arms race; fighter planes converted into air racers
Luka replied to Luka's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Thank you for your reactions!π Yes, they areπ§ -
Hello Britmodellers, The 'Civvy Street' group build hosted by Rob Arnehov was a bit tricky for me, as I have no specific civilian kits in my stash. Therefore, some fighter planes were turned into racers; The PM Model Sea Fury T-61 was converted into the Reno racer "Little Chief", while the HobbyBoss P-39Q became Airacobra '95' in the last Cleveland-held National Air Race. The Mistercraft Caudron C.714 underwent some heavy surgery to become the Caudron C.561. Thanks for watching! Luka

Thanks! As for the ID stripes; I found only one (somewhat blurry) photo of this machine on the net and the rest was based on profile artworks. I know, never just trust the artwork, but I guess I just filled the gaps on this quick build. In hindsight it seems logical the yellow panels would only be on the undersides in accordance with markings on German planes in that theatre. Maybe I'll change it later, but I'll keep it like this for now. The wheels were indeed dusted with some powder from dry pastels.

Smooth build! I didn't know about this experimental variant. Educational and an unusual subject to boot!

Hello Britmodellers, This 'easy assembly' kit was entered in the ww2gb hosted by Rob Arnehov. Mostly built out of the box, with a few detail improvements and new decals. Thanks for watching! Luka

1/32 Trumpeter P-38L 'Scat II'
Luka replied to David Mooney's topic in Ready for Inspection - Aircraft
Cool Lightning! I wanted to build 'Scat II' as well (in 72) and your build offered me some helpful pointers Thanks much!π -
Thank you for your reactions and compliments!π

A bad kitty looking good! Actually I wanted to make the same kit with the same decals, but I was a bit slow at the online auction with the Tomcat.. Thanks for the heads-up on the HDL decals. Nice work!π

Hello Britmodellers, Italeri's Mirage 2000C with a few extra bits and decals to make a 2000P. Thanks for watching! Luka

Awkward, I didn't know Airfix did a Tempest in 1/48.. Joking aside, really like the sharpness and subtle weathering. Nice one!

The obvious cues (Tamiya paint, cutting mat grid) betray its true scale. Simply astonishing work ππ

Thanks for your reactions! π The main scheme was airbrushed with Vallejo 71.046 and 70.870, while the false canopy under the nose was done with 71.097. Correct; I actually encountered several fit issues with this kit, especially around the airbrakes. The fit problem at the front wing joint was addressed with some plasticard and putty.

Hello Britmodellers, For the Build One Kit In A Month (BOKIAM) Group Build I made this South African Gripen. Aftermarket decals came from MAV set 720625. Thanks for watching! Luka

Thanks once more for your reactions! π Thanks, and I agree. I'm just not very good with freehand airbrushing any finer patterns at this point. There is actually a splinter pattern on the wings underneath the RLM 02 overspray, but the effect was somewhat lost under that heavy layer. Still learning, one model at the timeπ

Love the weathering, especially near the wing root it looks very convincing! Also like the careful placement of the aerial wire around the pulley point on the mast. Nice attention to detail π
-
Late style aggressor scheme! Love the natural sunlight shots. Although the (Hasegawa?) security officer next to the Humvee seems to be felled by a sudden heatstroke..π Great looking jet and dio!

I built this one a while back but never got to posting it. This Bf 109 was flown by Lt. Erich Schmidt of JG53 . Basically it's the new(er) tool Airfix kit with the prop from the old tool one. Thanks for watching! Luka

Great finish as always. Looking good!π
