Pratchett's Figurines
Pete in Lincs replied to Rumblestripe's topic in Ready for Inspection - SF & RealSpace
Nicely done and, like the others, looking close to what was pictured inside my head. I have a plan to read the whole lot of Discworld books again. They're sitting on the shelf ready and waiting.* * All except that last one about the steam trains. It was awful! -

That light gives it a moody effect. It looks fabulous. As for the bed. It's awful and I love it. Well used and showing it. -

Mack AC, Monogram, Scale 1/24

Both versions look very nice. It's always good to see a recycled model though. I think they test your skills more than one built out of the box. -

Thank you, kind Sir. Retirement? Highly recommended. So far, finding things to do hasn't become a chore 😜 Model production has moved up a gear or two. Bonus!- 763 replies

I hope the Hospital got you sorted out and your eye is back to normal. And that you are still happy with your decision to quit.

So far as I remember, each of their films took five years to make! -

OMG, He's back at last! I was worried (again) almost distraught (It's a new word for me so I'm using it as often as I can. (Next week I'll look up the meaning of it). But WOW! what a return. Fabulous printing and pictures thereof. The angst was probably worth it then. Favourite bits are the Torpedo racks. I was going to use the word exquisite but @heloman1 beat me to it. So I'll settle for beautifully detailed. And, WOOF! Many other parts look like pressings and assemblies stolen from the factory floor. They are that good. To sum up, impressive as all Hell. Please keep up the good work. And, Thank you. I hope you and yours are all well. Best wishes from across the water. Pete- 763 replies

That is a very nice model you have there. It kind of looks like a souped up Mercedes of the same period to me. My memory says French built with a Chrysler engine? I think I've only seen the Vega before.

That looks great. I too wish these kits were easier to get over here. It's years since I watched the film. I must do that one rainy day. -
Well it looks okay in the picture unless you zoom in. So well done, Sir! I think possibly, if you wound fishing line around the ring it might work. But that way lies madness! I have an AIP kit in the stash, The Fireflash. Got it cheap and then found it was missing the elevator cars. I sent an email asking about spares but no joy. One day it might get built on a stand. Though it's a bit braille scale for me so, Better go to specsavers

Thanks for the information. Not the car I'm thinking of. Very nice looking, both of them. They make the E type look old fashioned!

You'd better tread carefully

Thanks for your posting @paul-muc There are some great cars there. And on the link. It's odd to see a Morris Traveller on German plates. Unless it's had a bigger engine fitted, I can't see it keeping up with German traffic! The Zippert E type was a surprise. What a great way to advertise your business. Is that a Borgward on the trailer? The yellow sticker on the door is for an American Taxi I think? I've forgotten the name of the nice looking car in the last two pictures. (There's a yellow there one too) But wasn't it based on Opel parts?

British Sherman 'dozers, and how were they allocated.

I don't know if this video on the tube will be of use. Sherman DD tanks in India, and what's left of them today. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTyV8hnvTO8&pp=ygUSc2hlcm1hbiB0YW5rIGluZGlh
