  1. The one piece bonnet is a lovely piece of molding, it can be made to open, with a very slight modification, but I didn't bother. Again this is a test fit, not sure about the size of the gaps by the front of the mudguard assemblies, I think I will have to do some filing to move them in slightly. Th cab interior was very straight forward, all in pieces ready for primer And primed with Mig's Russian Green Primer. I've found that this primer sprays very well in the higher temperatures here. On to the trailer, unfortunately, on the swan neck are these ejector marks which all need filling, I used a home brew concoction, before assembly. The flat bed has some ribs to attach. I made up the ladder looking part ok but all the ends needed to be sanded back in order for it to fit into the trailer. As you can see there are quite a few ejector marks, thankfully hidden from view. Cheers
  2. Thankfully our uniforms were updated to be a bit more practical
  3. Have done before, not recently though.
  4. Welcome aboard I only have the ikea glass cabinets so technically no, I don't have shelf space but I tend to find somewhere to put the larger of my builds. Continuing with construction, there are some stages that I found just infuriating. The cable rollers on the back didn't line up properly and took some adjusting They still don't look right to me And these tanks are essentially butt fitted as the attachment points are so small. The two small tabs are the only things holding them on. I got the exhausts done, the frame has just been pushed into place to line up the support frame, fiddley as hell. Tyres came up ok, small seam down the centre I'm just about to make a start on the cab so I test fitted all the chassis sub assemblies and found that there are no holes in the chassis rail to accept part of the battery box. Easy fix just to cut those tabs off, the front part of the battery box assembly lind everything up. This is what it looks like with most of the parts in place, the second photo is what I have split it all down to for painting. Cheers
  5. Hi Not exactly a new member but I haven't posted anything before nor have I even introduced myself. I have lived in Perth, WA since 2009, after getting myself transported here from England. I was an RAF Police Dog Handler many moons ago, that, along with chasing jobs around the country, meant that modelling had to take a back seat for 20 odd years but now we're settled, I'm trying to make up for lost time. I am mainly interested in 1/35 scale stuff from the cold war time period but will have a go at anything that I like the look of. Cheers
  6. Hi Guys Sort of forgot I've been a member here for four years and never contributed anything, so lets change that and jump in with something big. I've really been looking forward to this release, so saved up my pennies and grabbed two of these. One for BAOR and one for the Gulf. The original plan was to wait for some after market to come out but I just wanted to dive in. This will be OOB, maybe next one I'll wait. Would be nice if AA will put out a wheel set. The box is full of plastic, as you would expect. First job, label the sprues, I did find the lettering and the numbering to be a bit vague. If anyone remembers the old K-tel record selector, that would come in very handy. On with the build. Chassis builds up to a very sturdy structure No engine This is where it starts to get a little tricky. Parts of the construction process aren't that clear, for instance, I made up the battery boxes and then realized that the hooks had to fit into the loops in the base of the frame. I took them apart, fitted the boxes to the frame then fitted the clamps after feeding them through the loops. There's a lot going on with the winch, although no cables, pipes or controls so I might have a go at making them, it looks a bit empty at the moment. I've left out the exhausts for later. My progress so far, drive line and steering (non working but poseable) fitted. Cheers
