It's beautiful but the background needs something.... Liam
  2. 12 01 2013 Sorry Loki, was that a link? It doesn't seem to work. Liam
  3. 11 01 2013 Once again, thanks guys. Very helpful. Liam
  4. Man, that was quick! Sorry Giorgio, maybe it was the way I read it. I thought it meant to use the big mouth. I didn't realise the big-mouth intake WAS the MCID intake. Thanks for clarifying it for me as I believe the kit has the small mouth intake. Makes it a bit easier, really. @ Dr. Evil: thanks for the link. I'll take a look at it and see what I can find out. Liam
  5. 11 01 2013 Hi Guys. I need a bit of advice please. I have Two-Bobs F-16C 'Cripes A' MIghty' Viper sheet in 1/48. I plan to use this Academy kit to build this plane: Now, I know it's not perfect but it's the only one I got. I know it's got the tail-base suitable for a 'C' but according to the Two-Bobs sheet, this F-16C had : '... the odd combination of a GE motor and a NON-MCID (big mouth) intake.' So...I have a spare 'big-mouth' I can use but I am not sure about the GE motor. Would this be ok? This is the Aires 4133 F16A/B nozzle, available on Hananants. I'm also going to pick up a 'C' cockpit and squeese it into the Academy body. All (constructive) advice welcome. Liam
  6. 26 12 12 Very cool...could be a mk. v or a test bird or a test stealth type prior to the Cylon attack...really nice. Liam
  7. 10 12 12 Too many good bits: but the best for me for me, other than the jaw-dropping finale, was the Galactica dropping through the atmosphere of New Caprica to rescue the colonists. Liam
  8. 04 12 2012 Thanks for the replies guys. Much appreciated. Here's some pics of the real thing. I did find a company via ebay that provide a resin body that I think would be suitable and there is a kit of a '47 or '48 Dodge that can donate the rest. Then, there's all the scratchbuilding of interior stuff to think about..... Liam
  9. 02 11 2012 Just wondering as I hear it'll be a cracker. Liam
  10. Hey Khimbar, naw, it's ok for now, I see elsewhere it only has markings for two German units so that's ok. I'll probably buy one and wait for the aftermarket decals that should (inevitably) be released for other markings options. Thanks for the kind offer anyway. Liam
  11. 28 10 2012: The thread IS called 'Revell 1/32 Lynx-Test shot' in fairness. And the pics posted were of their (?) build if the test shot. Soooo.... Liam
  12. 28 10 2012 Say it with me, say it gently: Test shot. Test shot. Test shot. No idea what markings will come with it but you can be sure that the aftermarket fellas will be right along with options to cater for all your modelling needs. Nice. I might spring for one. Liam
  13. 10 10 2012 Hi Guys, I don't usually make car models but find myself wanting a 1947 Plymouth Dodge. I want to make DeValera's car (226in long, 75in wide, 66in high and it weighed 2 tons!!) Anybody know where I can get one? I usually would check out RainboW Ten but they seem to have closed their (english) speaking International Mail order section as they no longer have an Englsih speaker available. Any help would be appreciated Liam
  14. 22 08 2012 I am assuming that Pheonix Precision paint is enamel based. What would be the closest match in acrylic-based paint? Hoping it's Lifecolor. Liam
  15. 20 08 2012 So, when all is said and done ... which is the closest match to Azure Blue then? Liam
  16. 18 06 2012 Would it be fair to say that the yellow outer ring of the fueselage roundel, the 'P' in the circle and the tail all look fairly similar? Nice looking machine. Might have to dig out the vac-form and get cutting. Liam
  17. 11 06 2012 I think that explains a thing or two. Instructions indicate three-seat flight deck but there are slots for four. Easy to recognise the kit's 'H' heritage. I have three square-back seats for the deck ... the two pilots and one for what I assume is the flight engineer. Is there not a 'jump' seat up there somewhere? Liam
  18. 05 06 2012 I have the Revell/Monogram 1/48 B-17F 'Memphis Belle' boxing if you want it. Liam
  19. 04 06 2012 Hi Guys, I'm currently building the Italeri 1/72 kit of the C-130J and plan to convert it to -30 configuration. I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of a website or two that shows the cockpit seats and their arrangements please? I plan to build it as an 86AW 'RS' tail-coded machine for a mate. Thanks in advance, Liam
  20. 13 05 2012 Hi Guys. I am currently building the 1/72 Italeri Hercules C-130J. The tyres for the main undercarriage are smooth plastic but the tyres on the real thing have grooves running around it as seen in the lovely booklet Italeri include with the kit. Can anyone advise on a technique for scribing the tread grooves around the circumference of the tyre for the main wheels? Thanks in advance Liam
  21. 21 04 2012 Just wondering what's out there. I had a trawl thru Hananants and was wondering if that's it? Or could this kit be made up as a Japanese machine.? Any advice greatly appreciated. Liam
  22. 19 03 2012 Thanks guys, very much appreciated. Liam
