  1. 28 04 2013 I was just wondering: I have seen these on ebay (1/48) and was wondering how good a kit it is: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Revell-Monogram-1-48-Hawker-Mk-IB-Typhoon-85-5258-/321110176793?pt=UK_ToysGames_ModelKits_ModelKits_JN&hash=item4ac3a87419 The auction isn't mine in case anyone was wondering. I was thinking of bidding and then stuffing some resin in there to spruce it up. Is it worth it? Is the kit accurate? Raised panel lines do not bother me but, as I said, I always wanted a Hawker Typhoon and was hoping this would be a decent kit to buy. Thanks in advance Liam
  2. 'But... it's the only game in town unless you get the amazing resin T-33 conversion for the Monogram F-80C from Gerry Ahser and put a lot of work into it.' Where can I get this conversion? Liam
  3. 27 04 2013 Guys, I have Leading Edge decal sheet for CDN T-33 'Silver Shark' Special in 1/48. Question is : what kit would work for this? I am think the Academy kit T-33A. Would that be correct? Any help appreciated. Liam
  4. 23 04 2013 I think the Green Mile was released as a series of small novellettes, maybe five or six. One every month or so. It was an experiment I believe. He did something similar with another book (I think) where you could download it chapter by chapter and pay $1.00 per download. I think he was trying a 20th century version of a serialised novel like they used to be published in Dickens' day but not sure how successful it was ( or wasn't) Liam
  5. 13 04 2013 Now, I know Revell re-popped the Special Hobby Mk XV, but I was wondering if you could cross kit the Airfix Xll the Seafire XVII? Thanks in advance Liam
  6. 10 04 2013 Thanks guys. I was wondering...they seem smaller than I would expect. I bought one the other day and I agree...beautiful kit. Liam
  7. 10 04 2013 Does anyone know what scale it's meant to be? Thanks in advance Liam
  8. 23 03 2013 Is there aftermarket for the modified bomb bay or are there photos or drawings that detail how the modification looked? Curious is all. Liam
  9. 18 03 2013 Hi Giorgio No, I don't think I want to go down the path of casting myself. I would just like these few (hopefully) pieces cast so that I can complete the model. I just don't want to waste a kit. If I have to pay a few quid for the job ... good quality of course...then so be it. Liam
  10. 18 03 2013 Hi Guys. I have a kit that I was working on and I have discovered that it is missing some bits. They're not massive, in size, but are important to it's construction. The kit was bought years ago second-hand and no mention was made that there were bits missing. I have since bought a second version of the same kit in order to see what's missing and see if they could be fabricated but I think there are some pieces beyond my capabilites ( eg, one-half of nose wheel). Therefore, I think the easiest solution is to see if I can get these bits cast for me. I need to go through both kits to compare and contrast and see exactly what's missing but is it possible to get this done? Once finished, I'll complete the one I started and then sell the other (complete) kit as I have no real need for two of them. Any advise greatly appreciated. Liam
  11. 14 03 2013 I have a Starfury if someone wants it. Make an offer ( a decent, respectable offer) Liam
  12. 11 03 2013 Thanks Giorgio, they have a Lightning sheet in 1/48 that has the 'J' in white. I think I'll go for that as it's the right scale and then paint it yellow. Barracudacals do replacement stencils that are sharper than the kit decals and I'll also pick up a set specifically for the black tailed 74 Squadron and a sheet with the XM144 markings. Sorted. Liam
  13. 11 03 2013 Thanks Bill. I can get XM144 from another sheet but can't get the 'J' tail code for love nor money. Xtradecals XTD 70092 has codes ok in the correct colors but it's in the wrong scale. I had hoped to they did the same sheet in 1/48 but I can't find it. I have a line on an Airfix F1 Lightning kit so we'll see how it all goes. Liam
  14. 10 03 2013 They're perfect for the stencils but there are no tail codes. It's the tail codes more than anything that I need as I can get the rest of the markings elsewhere. All I need are two yellow 'J's!! DOH! Liam
  15. 10 03 2013 Is there a 1/48 version of Xtradecals XTD 70092 Lightning stecils, tail codes and roundels sheet? Liam
  16. 10 03 2013 Thanks Starfighter, that's a step in the right direction anyways Liam
  17. 09 03 2013 Guys I am looking for 1/48 decals for 74 Squadron F1 Lightnings with the black tail? Specifically I am looking specifically for XM144 (cn 95040) with the J and Tiger head on the tail. Do these exist by any chance? Liam
  18. 05 03 2013 Hi guys, I'm thinking that this is a long-shot but does anyone do 1/48 SURA rockets for use with the Omani Strikemaster? I know these were used on Hunters as well but was hoping there were some aftermarket versions available? If not, what would be the best way to scratchbuild them? Thanks in advance Liam
  19. 02 03 2013 Martin, would you know if there are decals available for the desert scheme? Liam
  20. 01 03 2013 Hi everybody. I live near the Atlantic Airventure Museum in Co. Clare, Ireland and they recently took delivery of a Venom pictured here: II'd like to learn about it's history if that's possible, so I hope you guys can help. Now, it's unit code is WR 410 and the badge seems to be 66 squadron or 6 squadron (it has the number six on either side of what I think is a crest or crown). It seems to be painted in a desert type scheme and from the website of the company they bought her from that she is actually a former Swiss Air Force machine. This site gives her c/n as 749. To confuse matters, she's not the only one to have a unit code of WR 410. Such are the twisting routes and paths of the warbird circuit. Can anyone help me to identify this machine please? Thanks in advance Liam
  21. 22 02 2013 Do you have a link to the other forum for the in-progress build, please? Liam
  22. 22 02 2013 Absolutely gorgeous. Can I ask how you weathered the Alclad finish? I have a few all-metal finish kits in the pipeline and am looking for the best way to weather them. Thanks in advance Liam
  23. 11 02 2013 In the post (7) with the True Details Mustang seats photo: it says : P51D Mustang Ejector Seats x 2' on the packaging! Liam
