  1. 06 08 2014 Ultracast stuff arrived today. Here's the seat I will be using. Would I have to shave the rectangular 'block' in the centre of part A15 in order to fit this comfortably? The seat looks really nice and you get two in the packet. This will be painted tonight and the fuselage will be closed up. The companion piece will find itself in the second Mustang I'll attempt if I get this one finished in good time. Also, a technical question: The Aztecmodels sheet 48-014 Latin American Mustangs 1 says that the FAD camouflauged Mustangs all used the Aeroproducts propellers ' like P-51K/H'. The illustration they use looks like the round-tip Aeroproducts props. But the tips are yellow and it could actually be the square-tipped propellers as suggested by the model instruction sheet ... the Tamiya F-51D Korean War kit which are also referred to as Aeroproducts propellers. So I am confused. Which do I use? I am building the camouflaged machine '1914' Cheers Liam
  2. 06 08 2014 SaintsPhil, posted the rails and rockets this morning. No idea how long it'll take to get to you but allow 5-7 working days. Let me know when they arrive. I also included a photocopy of the instruction sheet to help with placement, Liam
  3. 06 08 2014 Heya God knows where I'll be or what I'll be doing by the end of 2015 but put me in for this as well... one or two lovely Jugs asking to be fondled ... Two Academy 1/48 'D's and a Revell 1/48 'N' that needs a canopy Liam
  4. 04 08 2014 SaintsPhil: I've been going through the Mustangs in the stash and have found the rocket rails included in Hasegawa boxings. The one I am looking at is JT30 'Jumping Jacques'. They're on sprue C of which there should be two. Rails and rockets are separate. Funnily, the sprues are stamped as 'P-51D/K'. I also have the RAM-jet Mustang and the same two sprues are included. If you can't source them elsewhere, I'll be happy to mail you the sprues from the Ram-Jet as they won't be needed. 1/48 scale, of course. Liam
  5. 30 07 2014 A little update. Some painting done The base color of the cockpit area/batteries is Nato Black (Tamiya XF-69) with increasing amounts of a mid-grey or flat black dabbed in to lighten or darken as neccessary... just to break up the monotony. I think that flat black is just too stark or pervasive so varying the tones helps make the area look more interesting. The tyres are painted in Lifecolor UA022/FS 36118 with a touch of black. Makes them a bit more 'real' looking. Waiting on an Ultracast seat before assembling the cockpit. Not quite done yet. Still have some weathering to do. Liam
  6. 20 07 2014 Hi Guys I'm looking for a kit that will allow me to make a kit of Jim Rockford's Pontiac Firebird. It's similar to Smokey and the Bandit's Trans-Am but I don't think it's the same car or kit. Main difference I can see is the wheels on Rockford's car are 5-spoke but not so on the Bandit's Tran-Am. I am not a petrol head, so any guidance greatly appreciated. I have seen a very good replica on-line that's a 1977 model but the show ran from 1974-1980. Thanks in advance Liam
  7. 19 07 2014 Mungo1974, I don't know if you saw it but I sent you an pm. I would be delighted to accept any help you might be able to offer re: FAD1914. Thanks in advance Liam
  8. 15 07 2014 Saintsphil... eh? And I mean, 'Eh?' The particular machine I'll be building is a P51D. The boxing is for a P51D. What should I be looking out for? Liam
  9. 15 07 2014 Hi guys. Here's my main entry for this group build. If I have the time and energy, I'll do another. Obligatory box-art And the decal sheet: Aztecmodels Latin American Mustangs 1 48-014. A little bit of painting the cockpit has occurred off screen. Photos to follow, Liam
  10. 11 06 2014 I had thought I'd signed up, but I guess I didn't . Add me to the list please...South American Mustangs ... here I come! Liam
  11. 16 05 2014 Are you able to mail this internationally. I live in Ireland and would like to purchase some please? Liam
  12. 15 05 2014 Thanks man. I have the wondows already but the Keith McNeill links are dead. The pdf file looks good and I think I'll get one. Liam
  13. 26 04 2014 Tasty! Are those 'flashy Sabres' still available? Liam
  14. 20 04 2014 Hi Guys, Just picked up the Revell 1/72 Space Shuttle and was wondering if there was any aftermarket and decals still out there for it. I did a search on Ebay and only found other kits and a set of Cutting Edge Shuttle tiles decals. Is there anything else? Thanks in advance Liam
  15. 11 03 2014 Time permitting, I'd like to be in on this too. Liam
  16. Lovely paintwork and modelling but I don't think Sonja wore green thong-knickers. Or, if she did, they didn't have a visible hip-line, as it were. Other than that, this is truly awesome and I am envious of your painting skills Liam
  17. 14 01 2014 One of the reasons I will no longer buy from them. I did email them to ask why??? but predictably received no response. Liam
  18. 07 12 2013 Hi guys. Quick question: I'm building the Italeri 1/72 C-130J kit which I'm converting to a -30. I have read somewhere (possibly here) that there is an issue with the kit in that the engines are staggered but should be level (or something like that). I'll be using OzMods Engine Nacelle Correction for this kit (7211) and I am just wondering if there is some sort of adjustment needed to be made before I glue the nacelles to the wings? Any advise (drawings, diagrams, etc, etc ) greatly appreciated. Liam ps, I'm building it as an American machine, not RAF.
  19. 02 12 2013 Air Modeller is a stunning magazine. I try to pick it up when I can. The others I can take or leave. Liam
  20. 30 11 2013 Word of caution, and yes, I know it's obvious, but the Grace Spitfire uses a different rear canopy than what was originally fitted. Take a look here for a better idea: http://www.airport-data.com/articles/view/Spitfire-Mk9-TE308-History-N308WK:58.html Also, I remember a few years ago at Duxford seeing a large scale model of the Grace Spitfire in the tent they have at the show. It could have been 1/24 but am think more likely 1/32. Cracking model too. Best of luck with the project. I have a made a few TR. IX's using the 1/48 Brigade model conversion. Can be a bit of a job but well worth it in the end. Liam
  21. 15 11 2013 I'd be into this but dependant upon University etc etc. When would it kick-off? Liam
