  1. 31 08 2015 Hey scotthldr Thanks for your help. Really appreciate it. I don't remember where I got the info from but I have written on the sheet 'Bu 86-0244' Heh. Cheers Liam
  2. 31 08 2015 Excellent. The way it was worded on the sheet seemed to imply the larger intake but I was kind of thinking why would they remark on the MCID inlet coupled with the GE engine when that would typically be the arrangement anyway? Five years of University brought to bear! Hah. So, I have what I need then: small NSI intake and GE engine (resin). Mind you, might have been much clearer if Two-Bobs had said that in the first place Thanks everyone for your responses. Liam
  3. 30 08 2015 Hi Boman Are you saying that the large non-MCID mouth is the one included in the Academy box? Liam
  4. 29 08 2015 Hi guys A quick F-16 question. I'm going to build the F-16 featured on Two-bobs F-16C 'Cripes-A-Mighty' sheet (48-129). The sheet states that this particular F16 has a non-MCID mouth (big mouth) but has a GE engine. I am planning on using the Academy F-16A/C kit for this and with that in mind, I have also bought the Aires 4431 engine set for the GE engine required and also an F-16C resin cockpit. What I am not sure of is does the Academy kit have the non-MCID mouth in it or do I need to source it from somewhere else? If I need to get it from somewhere else, where might I find it? Thanks in advance Liam ps, I'll be using a Hasegawa 1/48 Mustang to make the p51d version of Cripes-A-Mighty III and will then display the two as a pair
  5. 09 08 2015 Pete, those are excellent. Exactly what I want Liam thank you
  6. 08 08 2015 Hi guys, does anyone have or know where I might get scale drawings for a SBD-5 Dauntless please? Especially interested in the engine cowling. Scale of the drawings doesn't matter but as accurate as possible preferred. Thanks in advance, Liam
  7. 27 07 -2015 Hi Finn Thanks for the excellent photos. They perfectly illustrate what I wanted to know, Apparently, so, I can model then anyway I see fit, Nice! Liam
  8. 27 07 2015 Thanks Fernando, that's the info I was looking for. I knew the flaps where split in two but wasn't sure if they could operate independently. Liam
  9. Actually, does anyone do an engine cowling for the SBD-5 b any chance? Liam
  10. 26 07 2015 Hi guys, I'm about to launch into a Dauntless build in 1/48. I'll be building it as a Mexican Airforce A-24 Banshee. My question is when the aircraft is on the ground, parked up as it were, would the bottom half of the flaps drop? Also, would the tail flaps be deflected downwards as well? Thanks in advance Liam
  11. 10 02 2015 Just thinking... what about Trumpeter's 1/24 VI? It's got the spinner and four blade prop and the basis for the broad chord tail for the tr.IX so, it would be a start? Liam
  12. 01 02 2015 As far as the spinner and props go... what about that magazine from a few years ago...build a Spitfire or something... or even that 1/24th Lancaster in vac-form from a few years past ( I remember seeing it at Telford) I wonder if the fella who made it has any spares? Liam seriously doubt I'll find a Trumpy Spit for cheap anywhere. edit: that Spit was also a Vb and was 1/12 apparently. The similar weekly-collection Lancaster was 1:32 But I am nearly positive there was a vac-form Lancaster in 1/24
  13. 31 01 2015 @Gingerbob Nope, did not mean PR IX I want to convert my newly acquired 1/24 Vb Spitfire into a mk IX. Which I intend to convert into a TR. IX.... eventually. But the only major problem I can see would be the canopy. How do I make the canopy? Thanks for the input though, Much appreciated Liam
  14. 31 01 2015 Just wondering if this has ever been attempted and if so, what would be required? Liam
  15. 08 01 2015 Thanks guys, that's a terrific find. Can I use that propeller boss on the Hurricane? Or is it more suitable to a Mk IIc? Liam
  16. 05 01 2015 Thanks fellas. I had checked with Hananants before I posted on here but was amazed that there so little in the way of aftermarket bits and bobs. Thanks for the replies. I was kinda hoping there'd be something provided by the cottage industry but never mind. Liam
  17. 05 01 2015 Just wondering if there is any aftermarket...resin/decals/detail sets available for the old Airfix 1/24th Hawker Hurricane? Thanks in advance Liam
  18. 31 12 2014 Just wondering. I have a Mustang in a high-gloss finish that I want to weather-up a bit beyond just doing the panel lines. Any advice please? Liam
  19. 14 11 2014 Holy Thread Resurrection, Batman! Thanks guys, it's great to hear the very encouraging words! Liam
  20. 26 08 2014 That's lovely Well done Liam Question: why di you remove the rails but leave the stubs?
  21. 09 08 2014 Progress report: Seat painted and weathered to my taste. Cockpit assembled and ready to close the fuselage. More later Liam
  22. 07 08 2014 I can't remember if I put my name down for this but if time and University permits, I'd like to sign up for it, There are a couple of prjects I need to crack on with and this GB would be perfick! Liam
  23. 06 08 2014 Hey SaintsPhil, I've painted mine green. Now that the seat has arrived I can get down to business of getting the fuselage shut and progress this thing. Liam
