  1. AirDoc does work for Revell so I bet it will be released in kit form in 1/48. That is the only reason I could see them not releasing them in 1/48.
  2. Hey Gordon, I thought I may have known you. I am retired CAF, currently I am with STARS Air Rescue in Edmonton. You likely know Rob in Grande Praire who flies with us, he is an ex-Lab/Cormorant pilot too. The two of us have been friends since our teens and served together in 408. I know Mike so I am guessing you are flying a desk in Ottawa. Cheers, Gary
  3. I would think he is ex-CAF\RCAF. I think I know who he is. But I could be wrong.
  4. I am waiting for this set to be released. I saw the set when it was in a hobby shop for display. I hope Mike releases it soon.
  5. Beautiful build, love the jet. I saw one in person while on deployment at MCAS Mirimar.
  6. Is that two Hurricanes taking up the rear? Awesome sight!
  7. Nice build, I had two favorite jets when I was in 416, 795 & 798. Nice to see the old lady in plastic.
  8. Nice work Brewer, I enjoy your builds tremendously. They are always a learning and inspiration experience.
  9. Hasegawa kit is spot on, I worked on Hornets four 8 years and I have always been amazed how exact Hasegawa got the kit. The HB Hornet is blah.
  10. So was it a pity they started the fabulous new allied WWII toolings with the Spitfire Mk IX? Sheesh, you sound ridiculous. Well said.
  11. Wow, I had often wondered where that Mig-29 came from. So it was one of those famed group of Mig-29s. I always read the history of the aircraft at the NMUSAF. They don't always do a great job of the history of the aircraft on display. Some info is void.
  12. Yes, very nice build. This is the second time Homebee has shocked me with blunt review. We want to encourage others to post their work here, we don't want to scare them away.
  13. The rivets were not filled with putty. They were a flush fit and very tight. They were actually visible to the eye and when the jets weathered dirt would inject into the tight seams. The wings were primed, sanded, and painted which made the rivets harder to see when the jets were new. But as they aged/weathered they did show. Would they show up in 1:48 scale? I can't say for sure. I did OJT on CF-104s and in most of the pictures I took I can see the rivets. As well, when the Hasegawa kit was released there were two CF-104 gate guards at the base I was serving on, both jets had visible rivets. I am also looking forward to the DACO sets, I have been waiting a long time for them.
  14. Very nice, I am awaiting a Revell kit of the same aircraft. I was fortunate to see the 8th 747-8 on the production line.
  15. Alf over at ARC flew CF-5s, he'll know the answer to this. The CF-5 wasn't a great dog fighter in any configuration. I hear it was a dog to fly. In 416 I worked with an ex-airframe CF-5 guy, he said he hated changing the recce nose. Sounded to me they did it more often than just at periodic inspections.
  16. Looks like the real thing with the background edited out.
  17. Maybe we can sucker them into some of our worn out retired Hornets.
  18. Please have a CF-101B in the works too, so many colorful schemes!
  19. I don't think they did. We only had 12 recce noses and Steve had them on his DA.
  20. The noses were easily interchangeable. I have an image somewhere of a later blue camo CF-5 with a green recce nose attached. This link has the opposite of what I just stated, blue nose on green variegated. http://www.canadianwings.com/Aircraft/aircraftDetail.php Steve is correct. Hi Steve, how are things?
  21. The XIV has been announced by Eduard, at least I thought it was..
  22. F4U-4 Corsairs! dream mode off.
